Ok... Fitted new bypass thingy on way to work.. topped system up.. stat stayed full when I topped it up... Some right crap came out of bypass hoses when I took old ones off... Seemed better most of way to work... Got a little warmer though just before I came off motorway.. so I don't think...

that was my first thought....

i've flushed to coolant system with central heating de scaler/cleaner.... forget to put that on the list....

will get an ESR2348 tomorrow i hope.... its the correct radiator for the disco...

bypass valve? rad not leaking and i jet washed it before i fitted it... so its not clogged with mud or anything... i shined a torch through it to make sure it was clean...

ok... been having a problem with overheating... one serious boil where coolant was was spraying out of side of bonnet before i could get to emergency refuge area on motorway.. so new.... water pump, another radiator that didnt have a leak, serpentine belt, belt tensioner, viscous fan, new...

bollox..... feked still...

back on the road again... head gasket, skim and pressure tested.. valves all checked.. new timing belt and modified pully's.. no leaks.... all good... i hope...

foiled on completing my head gasket change and timing belt for the lack of a set of feeler guages.. oh well day 3 tmoz!

just gonna do head... cant be owt else now...

kin ell... how hard is it to get someone to do a sniff test!!! every garage just sez, "we dont use them no more", " we can just tell", in other words just bring it in an we will charge half a day labour to find the problem...

yeah pre march 2001 are the ones to get... mines got an overheating problem... i've swopped everything, run a cleaner through cooling sysyem, swopped rad, pump, stat, belt, belt tensioner, viscous fan.. last job was last night, been ok today... if it goes up again it must be the head...

yo paul... disco 2 td5? reg after march 2001, it looks to me like road tax is 500 notes per year? have i got that right? just looking at maybe changing mine...

Cng? The metal cylinder had a.bolt head on top in the middle.. looked like the top came off.... If need be... I thought secondary oil filter?
