redid the timing again just to be sure... still hot... put another rad on..... and success!!!!! rad must of been a duff one... but now alternator has packed in!!!! borrox!!!!!! wiggled wires and got it back to life for bout half an hour, then its stopped again.. had wires off and...

new viscous.. bottom hose cooler than top hose ya can tell just by feel.. also poured water on top hose when hot and it evaporated in seconds.. poured water on bottom hose and it took longer to evaporate.. checked timing and was out a little.. probably from doin timing belt last weekend.. so...

smells hot... probably sounds stupid but it does.. needle drops slowly back to normal, not instant.. blower is blowing i'm just turning the heat control to hot so no change in voltage use...

not loosing coolant, i cool it with the heater blower before it gets too hot.. rad n fins seem ok.... think i'm gonna swop rad for my mates as he's offered, his is a good one...

running without one after i put a new one in an it still got hot...

ive always filled expension tank to level.. then topped rad, then stat... always worked fine before doin it that way...

all hoses hot.... pipes solid...

as far as i can feel... got r lass to try rad, n she said it felt cooler in one spot but i couldnt feel it...

i might be old... but i aint old enough to get a td5.... still got a bit of life left in me yet! i'm gonna go out fighting to keep the bugger runnin...

new cap on... went for a spin... floored it to 65 and up goes the temp... put the heaters on hot and down it came... i'm stumped now... maybe new rad... its the only thing that aint new,,,

topped up maybe 300ml and set off home.. fine at 55... so floored to get it up to 65, temp started to rise again.. put cabin heatyers on hot an down it came... got new expansion tank cap to put on... when its cooled enough to swop over i'll go for a spin...
