It's a core plug. Which is quite good but bad news is that it's one on the back of the engine right up against the back of the engine bay. I'm going to try and clean it up and araldite it, it's not a big hole so I hope that araldite will hold it as I can't see any way of getting to the plug...

Well folks, I followed advice (thank you all :))and last weekend managed to fix the hole in the radiator, flush it out and refill the radiator/coolant system. I used araldite on the hole and it's been fine. Untill now.......... :( Spent a good hour or so in traffic this evening, didn't move...
