    Spraying coolant, what to do?

It's a core plug. Which is quite good but bad news is that it's one on the back of the engine right up against the back of the engine bay. I'm going to try and clean it up and araldite it, it's not a big hole so I hope that araldite will hold it as I can't see any way of getting to the plug...

    Spraying coolant, what to do?

well it dosen't look like core plugs, there's 2 I can see on the passenger side of the engine and they're looking fine. The water only comes out when either the filler cap or the expansion cap are off. Does that give any one any ideas? I'm sre it's coming from behind the main engine are...

    Spraying coolant, what to do?

Ahhh, righty then. Any idea where to start looking for my core plugs looked in haynes but can't find any info on where they are. Cheers for the info on the clocks. edited to add - just tried cards but the manual says that there's retaining clips underneath to release then push out from...

    Spraying coolant, what to do?

I'm realy after a fix, but thanks for the tip about leaving the cap off. At leats core plugs aren't hideosley expensive. But still don't know where they are or how to get to them/it. I'd have thought that under pressure they'd leak less, which may make sense as the leaks not so bad when the...

    Spraying coolant, what to do?

    Spraying coolant, what to do?

I could get the OH to squeeze the pipe and I'll have a look but I think it's in some place out of sight. Still will give it a go. Probably get a smack when I ask her to squeeze my pipe though! By pressurised do you mean start up the car and let her heat up a bit so the coolant starts to expand?

    Spraying coolant, what to do?

Thanks slob but my disco dosen't have air conditioning just the basic heating system. The sunroof dosen't leak (so far). And when I squeeze the bottom hose that goes to the radiator it causes the water to come out of the leak faster (wherever it is), a squeeze definetly increases the rate of...

    Spraying coolant, what to do?

I've had a good look today and the water is dripping down onto the top of the gear box bell housing. It's a fair bit of water if I fill up the coolant system. Could it be that the leak is from somwhere behind the front interior panel and from the heating system and or the heater matrix? It...

Well folks, I followed advice (thank you all :))and last weekend managed to fix the hole in the radiator, flush it out and refill the radiator/coolant system. I used araldite on the hole and it's been fine. Untill now.......... :( Spent a good hour or so in traffic this evening, didn't move...

    Spraying coolant, what to do?

Well been out twice now, the radiator seams to have a leak about half way up. The coolant tank empties out gradualy when left standing till it's just near the bottom of the filler tank. For no apparant reason (other than a hole) it sometimes starts shooting the coolant out the front of the...

    Spraying coolant, what to do?

:) Thanks for the reply slob. Just been out having a look at my radiator, it's a little crumbly but there's no sign of leakage from the hoses. So I think I'll get some araldite and try that first. It appeared to be quite a small hole so hopefully it'll hold for a month or so till the other car...

    Spraying coolant, what to do?

Just had a little jaunt out in the disco. On the way back coolant started spraying out of the front of the radiator, it was spraying about 2 foot in front of the car and the tempearture went right up. I stopped the car let it cool and waited till it had finished spraying coolant. Then I drove...

    Replacing the boot floor

Keep the pics coming, :) my boot floor isn't as bad as yours so I feel reasured that it can be fixed even if it's got a few holes in. I've just got 2 smallish holes on the boot floor at the corners near the passenger doors.

    Rust prevention products?

Hi there, had a search back and found the thread. Just hadn't looked far enough back before. Think I saw something called rust bullet that claims to be good last night on the web, although denitol was number one on the classic car test. Will have a look at WCF 50 too. It's rust on the...
