    300 tdi power chip

I think the injection pump on the auto is a Bosch VP37 (can anyone confirm this?) if this is so then it has a very simple electronic control. The pump ecu sends a voltage to the pump which controls the travel of the piston and therefore the amount of fuel being sent to the injectors. This...

    sticky

IPA (Isopropanol, Isopropal Alcohol) will remove any sticky stuff. It's an industrial solvent and also used for.making biodiesel. You can get it on eBay or from a few chemical suppliers online or if you are anywhere near Fife in Scotland I can give you some. Failing that panel wipe from any car...

300Tdi - What alternative turbos?? (and other tuning advice)

There are kits available to fit a T28 turbo but they are big bucks. I have been trying to find another diesel which uses a T28 as standard so I can get one from a breakers but haven't found any yet. I think the Mitsubishi pajero might be a t28 but I can't confirm yet. There are plenty of petrol...

    electric aerial 200tdi

Cheers guys, I was just going to fit a cheap one. Every parts shop used to have them but even Halfords don’t stock them anymore. I had a Google but didn’t find many so I’m just going to get one from eBay. I will see if I can bag it up for a bit of extra protection

    electric aerial 200tdi

Hi can anyone tell me if a standard electric aerial will fit in my disco 200tdi? I can't imagine they are short of space under there but just thought I'd check Cheers

    Discovery 300tdi HELP URGENTLY NEEDED

I am about as far away from you as you can get so can't help directly but the area your describing has two small rubber hoses going to and from your heater matrix. If it is just one of these hoses which has split it should be a fairly cheap and easy fix.

Would it be possible to make a rust proof Disco

When I was doing my rear inner wings, boot floor, cross members I used a few pieces of galv plate just because it was handy but I would have loved to use stainless steel and replaced everything but that would have been a lot of work. In the end I just used can after can of galv spray on...

    Barnsley yorkshire to Scotland

Thanks for the offer Red, that would have been perfect but unfortunately he has pulled the auction, I guess since I was the only bidder and it only being at £20 he chickened out. That’s about the tenth time this has happened to me in the last few months. I really hate eBay for allowing...

    Barnsley yorkshire to Scotland

Cheers Red, my fiance's mum is in Darlington so if you could get it there then I can get it next time we visit. If you don't mind? Unless anyone is coming my way anyway? He is in no rush to get shot of them so before Christmas should be ok

    Disco suspension lift

In my mind +5” shocks and +2” turrets will give two inch greater travel up the way and three inch more travel down the way while +3" shocks and -2" turrets will give 5” further travel down the way but you will loose an inch up the way. Of course where the neutral point will be in all of this...

    Heated fuel filter idea

The glow plug heaters are pretty poor as they get to hot and burn the wvo and won’t make much difference in heat anyway. I can’t get on to eBay as I am at work and its blocked but I presume the last link is a flat plate heat exchanger, they are what you want if you want to use veg, there are...

    Solar powered battery charger

Your charger will be 4 amps not watts, That is about 50 watts. It all depends on the condition of your battery and what drains there are on it. If your battery is good and there is little drain on it then a small solar charger might cover what is being drained but it would only cover a drain...

    Solar powered battery charger

Unless your battery is in very good condition that little thing will do nothing at all and if your battery is good you probably don't need it anyway. 2.4w is the maximum output so in winter you will maybe get 25% for at most 8 hours a day so that's 0.6w / 12v = 0.05A And 8 house a day...

    Pre Heater / Block heaters

I think I mentioned earlier that you should connect the heater threw an RCD to protect anyone from electric shock. The immersion heater element is protected by two thermostats one of which is designed to operate even if there is no water so its just wiring to worry about and I am a qualified...

    Rust

You don’t see that kind of dedication and craftsmanship much anymore, you should be commended. My disco had patches of fibreglass all over the boot floor but now has patches of steel on the boot floor and just about everywhere else.

    chassis corrosion

It is about twice as wide at the top, has the bracket for the tank welded to it which also has a couple of rubber rests for the tank to be pressed up against. I was lucky that the top was all solid or it would have been floor out time. I wouldn’t think yours is any worse than mine as I have...
