    had a smoke issue since, appears it is the pressure valve on the common rail.

    thanks for your replies, sounds like logical reasons, luckily the motor is covered by a no quibble 3 month warranty dy the dealer i bought it from then will be covered by a warranty by "warranty direct", so maybe i will let the problem develop as they say and let those buggers stand the bill !

    hope somebody can throw a bit of light on my problem, the little yellow engine light remains on at all times, even when running, the engine seems fine in all respects, whats going on and how do i remedy it ?

    sorry to hear of the demise of your motor, a few examples of engines and exhausts are for sale on ebay, still alot of money , but nowhere near what LR would want, hope you get sorted soon, be careful of taking advice off some of the gasbags that lurk on here.
