    L322 Black smoke on kickdown

Spray some bubbles on it and you'll soon find your leak if you have one. Boost hoses split too, I think I had a small leak on mine before it fully let go but when it did it was under the anti abrasion sleeving so it wasn't obvious and I drove it 9 hours through France manual shifting to keep...

    L322 Black smoke on kickdown

It's not my car, they took off a boost hose and plugged it up, you can see it by just getting someone to rev the car. Mine had a big soot stain on the underside of the engine cover which was the giveaway on my car

    L322 Black smoke on kickdown

I found mine was like this and fixed it with Q-bond. My wife's Discovery 4 has just done the same thing but that manifold split across the top and it's a flimsy flat piece so I'm currently in the process of replacing it. It's a PITA job on the SDV6!

Loss of coolant - 2008 Range Rover

If you drive back to him and park it on his desk it will get his attention! As a rule, I don't like dealers but I will say there are a few good ones out there. I bought a Mercedes ML a couple of years ago from a dealer, looked at it in their workshop on a Sunday morning where it had been put...

Loss of coolant - 2008 Range Rover

Aluminium coolant pipes running down the N/S inner wing is where mine went, didn't dribble much and it spread in about 4 directions making it hard to trace but they are a known leak point. With the rain we're currently having it will be hard to tell if it's dripping on the floor anyway! The...

L322 Rattling from hood on uneven roads and intermittent 'Air Susp. Inactive'

NEVER go back to that garage, not even for a tyre! I've had my fair share of air suspension experience of late and I can say with some confidence now that it's not that complex but you have to understand that a lot of conditions need to be met for it to work and it interfaces with many...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

On Saturday I used mine to drive from Maidstone to Newark where we collected an RRS for my brother (which is of course broken) but that's all good as the seller disclosed it all before we went. Spent Saturday night with a Topix subscription and PDF'd everything for the wife's Discovery 4 in...

    ICarSoft - v- Gap IID

One of the best things I have done is enabled the digital speedo in the cluster and set it to the same as the trip computer which I change to L/100km thus giving me a KMH readout when abroad. I don't spend as much time as I'd like to in France but we are so close to the channel tunnel it makes...

    ICarSoft - v- Gap IID

I have an icarsoft and GapIID. They are both really good, however, I would probably go for Gap if you only have an LR. As has been suggested, you can go into the CCF and configure the car which is really useful if you want to change options, program additional keys, install a tow bar, delete...

    Air Suspension

Assuming that I have read this correctly, changing the height sensor on the NSF sorted out the issue with the bag going down at the back? If it has, great that seems odd but it could be attempting to compensate or giving a false reading and confusing the ECU. Someone will know for sure but...

Disco 4 (LR4) Tail Light Theft - this might slow them down but only a little.

Last week a bunch of thieving scumbags stole the OS tail light from my wife's D4 while it was outside a friend's house on the street. It seems that they must have been disturbed as they didn't get the NS light but they had removed one screw fully and the other was partly out. Until this, I had...

They are if you want a cheap Chinese one. Mine seemed to be flowing air freely anyway so I don't think it was going the the cure but once it's in bits you may as well keep going eh? I ran it without the compressor cover on it and you can hear the air venting just fine but it only seems to...
