does any know if a 2000 td5 defender rad is the same as the disco td5 rad

lloks like it was mud on the inside of the rad under the cowel and between the intercooler :D:doh:

So other than a knackerd head :doh:, thats all it can be... fingers crossed :eek:

Is there a chance its the expansion tank cap. I think im going to change et cap , thermostat and waterpump then hope for the best :eek:

There is a bit of a whine , like a bearing from around the alternator area, dont know if its related :confused:

Only when its under load going up long hills, its been fine all day pottering about. radiator is free of mud, hoses are not pressurised and its not loosing coolant. but gauge goes into the red and it boils over up long hills :doh: Any ideas

there was 2 on there ending within 10mins of each other, other one went for £30 :eek: think there around £180 in shops :doh:

ive bought a brand new alternator off flea bay for £45, im just hoping its the right one :doh: Ill strip the old one down and use it for a spare if i can get it working :( heres the one i bought

Ive spent an age with the jet wash then threw 2 tins of wd40 at it, no joy. It ran for 3 hrs after the mud and gave up on the way home, the mud was a little thick :D

yep mud and water has knackerd my alternator and robbed me of a days worth of greenlaning today. Are there any tips of the trade other than not driving thru it in the first place :doh:

yes £25 squid for the day... theres different routes to choose so just do the easy ones, youd be unlucky to do any damage :D
