What causes a wobbly gear stick?

The oblong bush fits nicely. Has tighten things up a bit but still a little more movement than I'd like. Don't think the bigger round bush fits on my getrag gearbox.

What have you done to your Freelander today

The boxes were piling up in the garage so I decided to make a temporary light bar out of an old roof bar. Think the wire will end up going down the aerial hole in the end.

This is the eBay shop I used: Chequer Plate 5 bar Treadplate Aluminium Sheet - 2.0 & 3.0 25 Pre Cut Sizes | eBay Ask SES88 as he might be able to supply it.

What have you done to your Freelander today

£33 for a piece of 1000mm x 600mm x 3mm including delivery. Used a Sharpie to trace the plastic tray, jigsaw & metal blade to cut it out, drilled the holes, used the shed vice to bend the end cos its a tough old cookie & riveted it to the original frame.

Or use high temp silicone. I use black silicone designed for oven seals. Works a treat!

    MOT fail today! :(

That wool would be a screwdriver or a wire brush to see how much metal is left after the flakey rust is removed! Even my local Ford garage doesn't stock brake pipes, they make them to order with pipe & a flagging kit, pretty sure that's what the MOT centre would do too. My MOT centre always...

    Lumpy/erratic idle TD4

Would suggest doing a leak-off test first, it's cheaper than replacing the injectors and then finding they didn't need replacing. I've also heard one of the four injectors is a pain to remove. Have you checked your crank case breather?

Leaking roof on a 3 door Freelander Help!

Would definitely recommend this. Worked on my 3dr roof & as a plumber I fit a lot of walk-in baths for elderly people, even the smallest amount of dirt on the rubber stop it sealing properly. If you find any damage to your roof seal when cleaning it then try eBay or a breakers for another one...

    Synergy 2a or 2e

I thought the 2e was for low down torque & improved fuel consumption. 2a can do the same thing but can also give you more top end power if you want it. I guess the question is do you spend a bit extra & have the ability to increase your top end power if you should ever need to. I've got the 2a...

    door step

I'm pretty sure the 3/5dr use the same steps/rock sliders/bars on the outside. If I remember correctly there is no difference in the length of the cars, it's just the door configuration that is different.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Ever since I passed my test at 17, my grandfather has bought me a bottle of Lidl bumper black. After the first wash on my 1.4Si Corsa I never bothered to use them again, so they've slowly multiplied in the garage!! So today I used it & am amazed at how well it works!!! I tried my best to no...

What have you done to your Freelander today

I fitted my headlamp guards And I traced the plastic under tray shape onto my chequer plate ready to cut out. It looks like I will have enough from a 1000mm x 600mm section to do the plate & brackets.

Any tips for fitting front headlamp guards?

Thanks for the tips everyone. I guessed and drilled the holes & secured them using black silicone, self tapping screws & toilet seat fixing nuts, the advantages of being a plumber! Think they turned out ok.

    ISO kit on a 2001 Td4 - HELP!!!!

I've been trying to buy a steering wheel control cable for my Pioneer head unit. I removed the Land Rove stereo that was in the car when I bought it which the steering wheel controls worked fine with. I bought an Autoleads cable and Pioneer patch lead from eBay, chose the 2001-2003 BMW round...

I got my Td4 starter motor off without taking any pipes off. Its a tight squeeze & I recommend wearing gloves to save some skin but it is possible.
