    Range Rover P38 Locking handset.

£150 plus a fee for progamming the key, I've just got a new key and fob from my local L/R dealers £118 and they programmed it for me for free, and they checked it was working properly before I left.

    P38 LPG problem

A trick which works on mine (if your display is the same) is when the light flashes to say it's ready to change over, get the revs over 2000 then let then drop down to about 1500. If your on a motorway dip the cluth or stick it in neutral, once the revs drop it should switch over to gas. Hope...

    18" tyres

After a bit of help here, My P38 has the 18" wheels and can anyone recomend a suitable tyre for on/off road use, or would it be better to swap them for a set of 16" wheels. I havn't got the room to have two sets of wheels and tyres so I can't go for 1 set for road use and a second set for off...

    P38 off road parts

Does anyone know where I can get off road parts for my P38, what I'm after is some underbody protection etc. I can find loads for defenders and discoveries and even older range rovers but nothing for a P38.

    How reliable are LPG conversions?

Because the engine runs hotter with lpg, and because if like mine your engine has a slight water leak, you'll loose more water because it's hotter. I should really fix the leak but it's one of thos annoying ones where it's so slight it's bloody hard to find, plus I've got several other jobs to...

    How reliable are LPG conversions?

The system on my 4.6 rr (now at 113000 miles) works fine, I just keep an eye on the oil and water levels. Usally needs a bit of water every 2 weeks or so, apart from that it makes it almost as cheap to run as my old 1.8 mondeo.

    P38 Built in SatNav

the sat nav in a p38 is basic, you can get updated cd's for them off ebay. But they only really update the mapping, it does have a sort of post code thing, but only lets you enter the first 4or 5 digits. I tend to stick to the tom tom on my phone

    Extra Help

I got one as well, thinking of asking if it's possible to fit some of those pray drums they have on me range rover. Might keep traffic wardens away.

    rear door regulators

If when the window is almost at the top it sounds like a machine gun, then it's probabley the regulator as the noise is the motor slipping on the ratchet teeth.

    rear door regulators

Its a posh name for a matal frame with teeth, which the window motor drives and pushes the glass up and down.

    P38 Sat Nav CD

I got one from e bay I think about £20 with P & P, Take the disc out of the sat nav (under the OS rear seat) and check what model your sat nav is. Newer ones have a sort of post code feature, as in it will only let you input the first 4 digits, but the maps are up to date.

Green Laning In Derbyshire & Area

Had a look at maythegreenovalbewithyou, and tried a few routes. Point to note is "stanage edge" DON'T try this in a standard P38 there's parts where the boulders are Huge, and because there's a rock face to one side and a large drop on the other, you can't get around them. I had to reverse for...

    front heated seats

I trim Rollers up for a living, and if the elements are anything like those in a roller, leave them alone. Its a pig of a job to do and frankly not worth the effort. Just turn the heater up.

does anyone take their P38 offroading?

Of course I do take it off road, what would be the point in owning a 4x4 and not going off road, I admit I don't go PROPER off roading as its totally standard even down to road tyres, but it still copes with fairly deep rutted mud and rocks even without the diff locks. To have a 4x4 and not...

P38 Seat Squab Where to Buy??

I trim Rollers for a living, and any seat foams we need for any other cars we get from the dealers. If you think the price is a bit steep you could try getting a squab made up. You'll need to find a local trimming supplies company and take your old squab into them to see if they can make you...

    AA or RAC?

I could be wrong but don't the AA cover the driver, so if you've got more than 1 vehicle your cover is for all of them. Whereas the RAC cover the vehicle, so if you have more than one person that drives it, your all covered.

Green Lanes in the North West

Theres a nice drive in the peak district near Hathersage between Glossop and Sheffield called "Houndkirk road", suitable for all types of vehicles and with a bit of a mud bog about half way along for a bit of a play. Took my bog standard P38 down it on new years day, bit foggy but good fun...

    lpg cutting out

Its an older "star gas" convertion done in 2003 and no he didn't say where the filter is, and I've no idea where it is. Probably like most people I know next to nothing about the workings of an LPG system, only that it makes running a 4.6l V8 practical.
