    Niggles/To-do/wanted lists

dave had mine since June 2011 and still go a bit of a list as follows: - fix non working heated passenger seat (only packed up on Tuesday, I assume it's a broken wire in the seat squab) that's it, apart from that, everything looks good and works as it should

have i got a lead foot?

mornin' also, don't forget you will get slightly less mpg on lpg than you do on petrol - stil cheaper thatn a diesel tho' on mine (95l lpg tank, so @ 80% = 76l of gas) I get about 280 miles which equates to about 16mpg on gas

    Landy 110 sunroof catch

hi one place to try is a windsreen repalcement outlet (autowindscreens etc.). As they also fit universal, ford type, lift out sunroofs, they well may have the type of prong you need good luck

    p38 Range rover Insurance

hi did mine this year (& last) with Swiftcover (part of AXA) they were the only comparison company that don;t count the LPG as a performance mod. I'm 49, with over 9 yrs NCB and got fully comp, wife as named driver & legal cover for £314 well happy

    Rear wiper not very good

I had exactly the same problem with my P38. Turned out that there was some corrosion between the coils of the spring that pulls it onto the window. I just took the arm off, cleaned the spring up with a wire brush, sprayed it with some WD40, put it back on and it's been perfect ever since &...

    Illumination required

Hi why not go for P38 puddle lights - they fit on the underside of the door so will illuminate as soon as you unlock with the fob (as long as that also triggers your interior light) and won't be a distraction when driving

    unidentified fan thing behind dashboard

it's exactly the same as the one on my P38 so if you have trouble finding one for a disco, try the range rover route. Had a very quick look on e-bay and they are there (P38 spares carry them)

    Fantom

saw a really nice Linley range rover p38 at this years Driffield show. Bloke that owned it had it from new and probably spent more time keeping it clean that driving it - black piano wood trim inside did look well smart tho'

    Malatesta Kobra NT Tyres

i had these vey tyres on my old landcruiser. They look exactly the same as Sahara's but at a fraction of the price. Take quite a bit of balancing tho' I ran them for 3 years (both on & off road) and apart from being a bit "interesting" on a wet motorway at 80mph plus and a bit noisy I really...

    Tail gate straps

hi just replaced mine (one snapped whilst sitting on the tailgate)- got a couple from P38 spares on e-bay. £36.99, delivered for the pair and when they arrived they were in proper LR branded bags. Only difference between the old ones & the new was the old's were a 10mm bolt head and the new's...

    Recovery gear box

mine (tow strop, D shackles, jump leads, WD40, cable ties, Duct tape) is in an old army kitbag in the boot. it hooks around the rear seat receiver mounts and doesn't move at all I know it's not much but I don't spend loads of time off road so don't need winch etc.

    door handles hard to open

did same thing on mine, snapped off the little bit and mine are really easy to open & more importantly, don't stay stuck out dead easy to do - less than half hour to do all 4

    doncaster newbie

mikey looks like you had a right laugh at Frickley & it's well handy for us that live in Sth Yorks. Even mine did OK there and onlt got stuck a couple of times it's always muddy (didn;t go through water anywhere near as deep as that tho') and you can choose the routes that suit you (non...

Would you tow someone out of a flood

yep, always try to help if I can & not going to damage my pride & joy. in york last week , during the latest floods and spent about an hour pulling car's & caravans off a campsite that was flooded. A lot of teh towcars were these new jap "soft roaders" (X-trails, Quasqui's etc.) and owners were...

    Washer bottle

L66 easiest way I found is to take off the front bumper, undo the wiring plugs for the foglights, pull off the breather hoses as well and then just undo the 2 star bolts that hold it on. There are a coupleof plastic block that retain teh side parts & these have a metal clip that springs off...

WTF have I done? I've got that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach....

afternoon all the L322 looks a bargain, I agree with some others in that I prefer the looks etc. of the P38 but that's just me. I have a couple of m8's that run L322's and they are well happy (and paid a lot more than £7k for them) don't worry about the scaremongers - if you have any probs...

    p38 handling problems

mornin' you have to consider that teh P38 was nnever designed t obe run on coils so any coil conversion is not going to really suit the handling. Ideally you should really put the air suspension back in but that's not going top be cheap. the problem is that the colis aren't progressive so they...

About to take the P38 plunge

i've had my 4.6 just over 16 months now - i decided to get the best unmolested one, non converted & get it converted myself, I heard loads of stories about lpg systems not being fitted properly and causing all sorts of problems. Also a non converted one wil be a lot cheaper to buy Apart from...
