    Dog Guard Fitting

Mine came with a dog guard fitted already and I've taken it out several times to allow 2.4m lengths of wood to slide in. No difference with seat movement when fitted/removed. The mounting points are on the bulkhead just beside each seatbelt box.

Replacing the fuel filter housing on a TD5

Yeah I have seen that one, how was it to install? I take it you just used the existing vales from the old mount? You'd think that someone would make a cheap fix for the existing part, considering it's only a forged piece of metal. That said, there's very litle room on the housing to drill new...

Replacing the fuel filter housing on a TD5

Thanks very much guys. I'll price the part at the local dealer, but will probably end up getting it from pad/crad for about the £100 mark.

Replacing the fuel filter housing on a TD5

Thanks mate, if it's not to much trouble, could you put your descriptions to the 4 numbers on this picture? Much appreciated.

Replacing the fuel filter housing on a TD5

Can I gauge the opinion of people who have done this before. Basically, mine is shot, and I really should have fixed it before now. I was just wondering if I were to buy a new one off the shelf, will the 4 valves all be in the right order to just do a straight swap over? Are they threaded or...

    What's this part called (please!)

:D:D Found the old ones. They had blown across the road from my house after I'd left them on the pavement whilst painting the front of the chassis. Result!

Strange wiper motor behaviour on my TD5

Ignore me. What an idiot. I was operating the motor with the park switch not nestled in its wee slot, so of course it wouldn't stop!!!

Strange wiper motor behaviour on my TD5

Okay, so here is where I am. I've plugged in the old wiper motor and the old park switch and the same thing is happening, motor keeps turning even when the stick is at off. When stick is pushed to fast mode, it will make motor faster. So the same behaviour is being shown by old and new motors...

Strange wiper motor behaviour on my TD5

Well, I got my motor late yesterday and waited until this morning to fit. A bit fiddly but I got there in the end. Turned it on to test and all was fine, the only slight issue was the wipers were parking a bit higher than usual. So I decided to try the park switch from the old motor to see if...

    What's this part called (please!)

Wow, Wammers, thanks very much. At that price, I might as well replace them to go with my new shiny bits!

    What's this part called (please!)

Hi, whilst waiting for other parts to arrive, I started to tart up the front of my landy with a new bumper and dying the grille and light surrounds. I took the rubber caps off the bumper mount and inevitably, I've lost them:rolleyes: So, here is a picture of the bits I need to miraculously find...

Strange wiper motor behaviour on my TD5

Thanks, Is it fairly easy to remove the motor from the wire rack? It looks a similar set up to my steering for my outboard engine on my boat, except that it has a rubber sheath of sorts over it. Does this just pull off? Here is where I am at, with the motor arriving tomorrow hopefully, and...

Strange wiper motor behaviour on my TD5

Hi, having used one of the guides on here for removing the dash (thanks!) my dying wiper motor has now sprung back to life. Heres the background: 2 weeks ago my wipers seemed VERY slow when I used them for 1 pass to clear a few drops of rain, I never thought anything more of it. A week later...

Is my door card fixable (pics)

Hi, wondering if this is fixable. Defender 90, electric windows. 2004 TD5 No cracks on card, the door button is extremely shoogly though. Some of the yellow fixings have snapped off, and the ones that are intact, the corresponding black screw has sheared. Any tips for getting the whole...

the exact location of GEMM 4X4 in Larbert?, map included

as per the advice I got on here, you're looking at 10-14 days sometimes to book in. I was lucky and they had a spot 8 days after I called them. The owner, George, and the rest of the guys were very decent chaps.
