ok so thats the oil sorted, anyone have any problems with the britpart service kit? the pics of oil filters from the service kit and landrover single buy ones look the same part.. i know britpart is meant to be ****e but as far as the service kit go's its in my price range.. what ya reckon...

Is it a very very bad idea for me to run engine flush through my 116k mileage td5 before my oil and filter change, reason is i have a tapping sound and thought to rule out a sticky lifter, shove this stuff in? A few friends said dont do it, the engines too old.... Thanks...

wouldent certain types of epoxy paint also be good? some even have rust inhibitors in them also

take out the seats! oh and all the interior lining, oh and close your wing mirrors, sunroofs closed, remove arial, lose some weight, dont carry passengers, dont do any unessacary breaking against the engine, use the gears instead, avoid traffic, avoid traffic lights, avoid city centres, avoid...

check the colour that you have now, red or blue, use the same colour.. Any ethelyne glycol based anti freeze, with no methanol, containing OAT corrosion inhibitors

thanks guys... first thing first is stick some valve lifter in the oil and see what happens, Deffo not the pulley damper, ive justreplaced the pulley and damper and front oil seal.. One garage says its the lifters, another says its the followers, another says injector seals.. what a...

no smoke issues at all.... it feels to me like its a little down on power as to how it used to be before the head gasket replacement... Previous to this replacement of the head gasket the engine sounded wonderful!!

madhat, not sure if its an injector noise or not, that was an awnser to my question that john posted lol :) It does however sound exactly like the tapping on that astra

I know this isent a landrover but the noise of tapping is exactly the same....YouTube - Astra sri 2.0 modified but now tappey after head gasket change Do you think it might be the lifters? should i try seafoam?

aye I feared as much, thanks for the confirmation on the harness replacement. This is like a clicking/tapping sound in line with however many revs i have on... seems like Alot of vibration through the whole car also... more than normal..

yeah i think i did, would they cause a tapping sound top end? its had this tapping sound since the head gasket was replaced :S Could it be anything to do with the injector harness? I pulled out my ecu and the red plug has oil on the outside :S

sometimes the area where it connects to the engine can do with rubbing down a bit.. my hose split in that exact same place, also lost some coolent there before i changed the clamp

also concerned its head gasket, we were losing coolant, no overheating, was head gasket.. is the bleeder valve done up tight on the top hose?? Is there a split in any of the hoses? somtimes they split at the end if the clamps are done too tight...
