Right then unitill I get time to start tracing the wireing I bodged it! I just put a link direct from the smallest wire on the alternator direct to the permanent live and it works. I have a battery isolation switch I can turn off when not using so I dont get a drain. Thanks for the advice.

I know but I dont know what to check. Where should the 3 wires be going to and whats required to start? My undersatanding is this: Main wire straight to batterry(maybe passing through starter) Other bigger terminal gos through a switched live(ignition), fuse, then back to the smaller...

And another question. I have a plug on the back with 3 terminals. What does each one do? Does it require them all to get a charge or are the other two just for indication purposes?

As far as I know the bulb in the dash has never worked. Ive owed it for many years and killed a few alternators but never seen the light on??

Right then im after some help with this damm thing :mad::mad: My alternator died, or so I though, so I brought a used one. Fitted it and still the same. Not getting no charge to the battery. I then brought a brand new one and still no charge. A multimeter to the battery is giving me 12.7v...

Oh and I'm now running them on 16x10 inch modulars!

First off its had an m.o.t, no problems there. I wasn't going to use them untill I took a wheel to a couple of tyre fitters and no1 could see a problem. I can afford to run a landrover. I have a defender, discovery and a daily car. I can't believe I got this thread to 14 pages, class!!!!

Again, not listening to my point. I have mounted 16.5inch tyres in the past and they don't fit correctly. These aren't like that. I have ran them with real low psi while rock crawling and they are fine.

My point has always been that they sit on the rim perfect as if it was 16inch. I mounted 16inch on one rim then one of my coopers and the beads are exactly the same. But being Landy zone, all you get is a pile of negativity!

Just for all the f*cktards that posted on this thread just thought I would let you know they are still going strong! Been to several pay an plays, green laneing every month including weekends in wales etc and they get me to work and back (90 mile round trip on the m6) without any pressure loss!

By too much checker plate you are talking about the bonnet and back door? I take it you don't really know what your talking about and your just sticking your ore in? The bonnet and rear door can be seen from the inside and both are solid.

Huh????? VIN tag is missing as it was stolen. As for it being bodged a up 90 chassis I have no idea what your on about. It has its original chassis number which corresponds with it being a defender 110.

The insurance did not pay out so it is HPI clear.

Settled with the insurance. I gave it a hpi check today and it comes back clear. The inly rust u can see on it I have put a picture up. It is advertised for £1600
