If it gets me through this weekend then it kills the alternater then so be it. I have a new lume at the ready for it and its already well overdue.

Ive checked the bulb and connctions and they are fine. To be honest it needs a re wire as its a mess, it has been since I had it. So a suitable resistor in my link should do the trick? And I know its not going to burst into flames, people do seem a bit OTT on here but im used to that now!

No I really dont, hence asking on a forum for advice. If the lamp isnt illuminated while the alternator is running how is it limiting the current?

Oh yes and through the light. The buld was fine but did'nt illuminate so the wiring problem is clealy with that wire. So surly all ive done is cut out the problem?

The wiring diagram states it gos through the ignition, through a fuse the back to the other terminal. What difference does it make if i just cut out the above out??
