Sorry to tell you this but I have been told by a specialist that skimming the head will not last very long and is not recommended. I decided to buy a new one cost about £400.00 . What do you all think.

know idear, can only guess that your diode pack is breaking down for some reason (maybe heat). just a shot in the dark guess though.

if you can hear air going into a fuel filter it sounds like you have a air leak. try to find the leak and you will fix your problem.

Could anybody please tell me were the connector is (if there is one) for wiring in the secondary (aux) 7 pin towing socket. I can not find anywhere it on my 94 300 tdi. Thanks in advance

First check the pipework under the bonnet leading too the heater matrix, they should be hot when the engine is warmed up. If they are not check your coolant level (it may be low), if levels are ok and pipe work is cold you may have a blockage in one of the pipes or the matrix.

since I bought my 300 I have had to replace the cylinder head (warped) rear floor pan plus cross members, two water pumps, two tyres, front windsceen,radio head unit, swivel oil seals, fan belt and now it has an ABS fault and I thnk the alternator bearing is on the way out. still love it sam

fitting a new floor is very long winded (did mine) however it is worth doing if you intend to keep the disco. it involves a lot of spot weld removal. but goes totether OK you may find you have to replace some of the floor support x members but they are easy to do. did mine in a weekend. Sam

try your local car salvage auction . most of them to my experiance remove the in car audio stuff and sell it from site at good prices. worth a look. Sam

from the sound of things you will only need the outer sill it is a very large panel and replacesthe bottom and sides can't remember what I paid for it but it was not to expensive.

It sounds like you need a new outer sill if the holes have been made by the trim screws. the inner sill is the bit under the car behind where you say the holes are. sam

not to bad a job, the new sill will comes complete with part of the floor. cut it off if floor is OK and join at bend. just be careful removing the spot welds around rear wheel arch and front and raer door pillers. did mine with the doors still fitted sam
