Need help and some words of wisdom 90 MOT Fail

Don't love it that much!!!! I will get it looked at by a proper welder I have a number for a local metal fabricator who is very reasonable but looking under it looks like a lot of work whoever does it. I bought a welder this year but with two other projects already taking up my time and...

Need help and some words of wisdom 90 MOT Fail

I know I should Ian my dream would be to get the new chassis delivered then gradually build up the car around it taking my time. However it's space and money I need! Anyone know what kind of cost having a new chassis fitted is?

Need help and some words of wisdom 90 MOT Fail

Well today was the dreaded day! My 1991 Defender 90 went for its MOT I knew it would need welding and some other bits but wanted to know how bad it was so I figured stick it through the MOT and see what comes up. Once up on the ramp we noticed the Battery box which I knew needed replacing...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Gave it a good clean today then drove it home from work and it rewarded me by then not starting five minutes later. I fitted a new stereo last week and think it must be taking a drain on the battery!!

Replacing the seals around the rear hub

So on Rimmer Bros website and looking at the kits 90-110 & Defender Rear Hub & Stub Axle at www.rimmerbros.co.uk In a nut shell below is the quick copy and paste. You say go for the better ones which I would normally do. However can there be that much difference in quality to make over £100...

Replacing the seals around the rear hub

Thanks for that. I replaced the breathers when I did the initial work, so hopefully they are still clear. I thought I would try the cap again on that wheel this morning so I removed the old one and replaced with a new one and used some sealant to be really sure! By the time I got to work it had...

Replacing the seals around the rear hub

Morning all, I'm after some advice. I was getting some lovely patterns on my rear tyres caused by diff oil leaking from the hub and spraying around the tyre as I drove. As much as I love the pretty pattern it's probably time I got it sorted! It was on both wheels originally so first thing I...

Looking to do a few jobs on my 90

With my broken speedo it's hard to say how many miles since its last oil change but it was end of last year so it's probably done 4000ish the leak from the rear diff/hub is off putting with regards to the light as you can smell the hot oil from the leak at the same time as you see the light...

Looking to do a few jobs on my 90

I am in two minds at the moment Albert. Been looking around at 90's for sale with new chassis etc.. And thinking the difference between what mine is worth as it is and a completed one. Looks less than the cost of doing mine. If I spend all the money on mine it will still not be my perfect 90, I...

A fair few jobs. It's running fine in general I use it pretty much every day so nothing that's stopping it from going!! It has a bit of rust on the chassis, mainly just general surface stuff however it does have one whole in one of the front arms. This obviously needs doing, I also have a...
