L series diesels only like veg oil if you have the pump thats driven by cam. The driven pump gets gummed up pretty quickly and they are a pain to replace, as they need to be locked correctly before removal.

I would put a multimeter across your car battery and measure the voltage on idle. If its less than about 14.5 volts it points to an alternator problem. Check the condition of the belt. My Galaxy did this when the clutch in the pulley seized.

Ive had this in an L series before and it was just the end of the leakoff was a bit perished. If there is enough on the pipe still, just chop 2mm off it and pop it back on, see if that solves it. I just had to crack the top off the injector and turn it over afterwards to purge the air out...
