    Throttle Potentiometer error 17

Hello I've got a 93 LSE 4.2l. While doing the 10k miles service I saw the error: (17) Throttle potentiometer giving invaild readings The error doesn't clear. I've performed the tests from the electrical troubleshooting manual and it seems to check out. The previous owner did say the...

DIY EAS diagnostics for the Classic

Jimmy, You need to look in: "https://sourceforge.net/projects/easunlock" "RangeRover_EasDiag_PPC_02-20-08.zip" for the Classic cable diagram. I should warn you, although I'm helping to answer questions, I haven't actually got my cable to work yet! cheers Neil

DIY EAS diagnostics for the Classic

Jimmy, Not too sure what you are looking at. For the EAS, the manual I have shows a 5 pin connecter, but with only 4 pins in use. In post 10 above, there is a picture of the 14CUX connector I got confused over; showing only 3 pins in use. The EAS and 14CUX connectors are the same shape...

DIY EAS diagnostics for the Classic

Jimmy Have a read of post 11 above. I confused the 14CUX's diagnostic connector for the EAS's. The EAS's was buried deep under the seat while the 14CUX's was right at the back and easy to get to. Neil

DIY EAS diagnostics for the Classic

Hello Rishi I built the batch panel and have swapped diagnostic connector pins 1 and 4 around. Regardless of which way round they are, I get the same result as that shown in zip file, in post 11. The relay does click on Initialise, so yesterday I may have missed it or my initial wiring was...

DIY EAS diagnostics for the Classic

Rishi I swapped around diagnostic pins 1 and 4 - are those the correct ones? No change and I've lost the relay click on initialise! I'll make up a patch panel so I can more easily swap wires. I did notice in the instructions in "RangeRover_EasDiag_PPC_02-20-08.zip" that the diagnostic...

DIY EAS diagnostics for the Classic

Hello Double checked my cable and tried again. The worry is I can't really check that the transistor is working! I basically tried different comm ports (comm1 seems to be the one) and gave it a number of goes and some time. Apart from two different readings I always got the results...

DIY EAS diagnostics for the Classic

Hello The three wire diagnostic plug issue can be forgotten. My fault. There are two plugs under the right hand seat, both the same; EAS and 14CUX. I've now located the correct EAS plug (not white, but black just like the handbook says it is). Still doesn't work; the relay clicks when I...

DIY EAS diagnostics for the Classic

Hello, I've been able to make a PC cable (from instructions in "RangeRover_EasDiag_PPC_02-20-08.zip") and to have a go with "Win_EASfaults.exe". I think it partially worked! I've attached some files showing the results. The ZIP file has a Word document in showing the "Win_EASfaults.exe"...

...I'll take a look through the RAVE manuals. The C875 is the 5 pin connector mentioned in the "PPC_EASdiag_ReadMe.doc" file for the classic cable. I have one and it is the same connector as that in the RR. Thanks Neil

DIY EAS diagnostics for the Classic

Hello Rishi, I started to put the cable together and realised I didn't know what the pin numbers are for the C875 connector (no numbers on the connector). I'm building a cable for PC serial connection. From the pictures on RangeRover.Net I could work out blue wire was pin 1 and red wire was...

Freaky electric mirrors on my classic

Check the "left mirror", "right mirror" toggle switch. I've seen examples where the contacts inside the switch no longer work, or work now and then. This switch supplies the power to one or other mirror motor (through the ECU if you have a memory). The switch is easy to take a part (and put...

DIY EAS diagnostics for the Classic

Hello Rishi I've got a 93 RR Vogue LSE Classic with the EAS fault lights on. So I was interested in your posting. You mention you've got a 94 RR, do you know or think the software would work with my model? If so, looking through the "RangeRover_EASunlock_Win32_03-19-08.zip" PDF files I...

Storing a seat & mirror into memory

Hello I've got a RR 93 LSE with memory for seat and mirror positions (picture attached). However, I do not know how to store new settings. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I can recall the existing saved settings (from previous owner) by just pushing one of the green buttons. There...

Hello I have a RR 93 LSE with a radio cassette (picture attached): Part no. 8920 Prod no. PU-9590C. I'm waiting for the LR dealer to tell me the code, but I also need the instructions on how to enter the code. Can anyone tell me how to enter the code? I'm expecting to change the battery...

New EAS Tools - EASunlock, EASfaults, EAScalibrate

Will this software work with the EAS on a Classic 93 LSE? The EAS control buttons' lights blink and then stay on constantly after start up, which indicates a fault. I haven't got any cables, but it looks like I need to start to get into this aspect of my RR. cheers Neil
