Hi all Just a thought about a conversion i have a 93 RRC 3.9 auto and as you can expect its a tad expensive to run i also have a vauxhall frontera with the isuzu 4jb1 2.8 tdi engine The question is how easy would it be to put the oil burner into the rangie i know i would need an adapter...

Give classic kev a prize goldfish it was the alternater the diode was fubared which reversed the function of the alternater :confused: thus draining the battery leaving not enough power to run the efi hence the coughing,spluttering and general rough running pick the refurbed alternater up...

its definatly the battery light and it hasn't run out of fuel it still has quarter of a tank in it and even if it had run out why is the battery light on when i have switched it off and locked the doors?:confused::confused:

My 93 range rover 3.9 drove fine yesterday went out in it today it started fine and at 1st drove fine then suddenly started holding back,misfiring,backfiring a little,at 1st i thought either the coil,distributer or ht leads would be at fault so nursed it home but when i got back turned it off...

Sorry should have been clearer i know the fitment is the same i was asking about the design/look of the wheel and the lse i saw had different alloys to the one in goonarmy's link i thought they was more like the freestyle alloys fitted to the disco

Are the range rover classic lse alloys different to the discovery freestyle alloys they look similar in pics but really fancy changing the wheels on my vogue with the run of the mill alloys to silver lse ones (if i can find any)

it was the mk1 trooper with the 2.8 engine as diver said the monteray is the later one with the 3.1 td or 3.2 v6 fitted neither a brilliant engine there was also a 3.0 td fitted to troopers which is a horrificly weak engine which cost isuzu ££££££ in replacements and nearly bankrupted them

The engine you have may also have came out of the frontera 2.8 i have a fronty with this engine exactly the same block as the trooper just the intercooler was in a differant place on the trooper it was on top of the engine hence a bonnet scoop, on the the fronty it was in front of the rad any...

Sounds fun i'd definatly be up for it when would this be planned for i have green laned and camped in febuary and it twas fun if a bit nippy i think it was april before my testicles resurfaced :eek:

waxoyled the tailgate on my RRC to keep the dreaded rust at bay and did the rear crossmember could do with a ramp to do the rest

No airbags so i guess its not a soft dash will try the other suggestions of fuses and cleaning switchs and let you all know how it goes then it'll be ready for the next problem ;)
