    hiya matt, i bought my freelander 6 weeks ago, & it has an aftermarket stereo fitted, my steering wheel controls still work, but not sure if a harness adaptor has been used:confused:, best to plug it all in & see what happens, if they don't work, you can get harness adaptors from halford's;)...

    no i did'nt support prop's:o, dropped them carefully, just let them rest on the floor, however, did support vcu, as for the bearings, bought them from bell at the same time, & they kindly fitted them, opened up the box, all there ready to go;):), excellent service:D

    hiya, is it a uj that's knackered, if so, save yourself some money, terrain vrhicles in hastings do a pair of uj's for £7.50, i got mine out by taking the bolt all the way out of the joint, then got a slightly shorter 10mm nut with a couple of washers that sit inside the yoke on the spline face...

    you must have, taken me 12 hours in all :Cry::Cry::Cry: front prop would'nt split from vcu, soaked in wd40, then had to think outside the box to remove it;), finally all done, test drive tommorow:eek: see how it is:)

    tryed that, that's how i bent the chisel:mad:, worked fine on the rear prop:confused:, think someone has had a go before, when removing, front bearing totally out of allignment, deriously thinking of changing uj's as well, then i can ask my mechanic to press the damn thing off:)

    hiya, i had the same problem when looking for mine, i personally think a comprehensive history is a must ( garage or receipts from diy), & general overall condition;), check for any noises underneath as these can be expensive:eek:, have a browse through the threads on here, will give you an idea...

    hiya, & welcome to landyzone, i must agree with kizzeh, i think diesel is the way to go:), i have only been on here for about a month myself as only just bought mine, & i'm not going to pretend to be an authority on freelandres, however, my previous car was a my2000 mgf vvc, so i know the dramas...
