    Won't f**king start

I called my local mechanic, who I'm speaking to every week at the minute, and he said it sounds like the starter connector. I jiggled it while the wife turned the key and it started. Left it running for 5 mins and turned it off. Tried it straight away and it started again. Left it 10 mins whilst...

    Won't f**king start

Hello again, Freelander wouldn't start this morning. It had p*ssed down all night. Second attempt it went. After locking and unlocking with the remote. Okay this afternoon. Gone to it tonight and guess what it won't start again. I'm pretty sure it must be something to do with the Immobiliser...

    Throttle potentiometer

I had a sudden loss of power at 60mph. Twice in about 10 minutes. When you need more petrol through it doesn't deliver. Had the potentiometer replaced today. £70 for a genuine land rover one. Taking it for a long run Sunday so hopefully everything will be ok now.

    Throttle potentiometer

Can anyone give me some info on throttle potentiometer. I have had a diagnostic check and it says the throttle potentiometer is faulty. Is it difficult to fix? Is it expensive to buy? thanks

    Loss of power again.

I've just searched for a replacement fuel filter and they are all saying it's in the tank. Is this the right one? WFL100160. Thanks to all who replied.

    Loss of power again.

It has already had a head gasket failure at 63k. I'm beginning to think that although they replaced the head gasket it didn't identify the underlying cause and its going to happen again. Its not a main dealer its just a garage and I am having to fight for everything thats gone wrong so far

    Loss of power again.

Oil smells like oil. header tank hardly got any smell. No gunk on the cap either.

    Loss of power again.

Yes temp gauge was reading normally. The head gasket was changed by the garage. All the fluids seem to be normal. When I open the fuel tank cap there is a rush of air, is this normal? The only thing I can think of in the overheating department is apparently there are 2 bleed valves on the heat...

    new to freelander advice needed

thanks adam . In a Freelander the transmission incorporates an Intermediate Reduction Drive unit which provides the 4WD capability. The lubricant in this gets very hot and so is passed through a heat exchanger connected to the engine cooling system. This is fed by comparatively small bore...
