Hi guys, finally got my 109, more on this later, just running up a list of urgent spares to buy. I have a slight leak between the manifold and the exhaust pipe, there seems to be a rubber gasket/washer between the two. From what I can gather from the workshop manual and parts catalogue there...

Seems to be the key for the petrol series, maintenance, maintenance and then do it again. I've not heard about the rear overheating, thanks for that tip. I know the fairey overdrive needs weekly oil checks, looks like my weekly checks are going to take some time, oh well. Quite a few people...

It's a good job I got the manual before the car otherwise the red and yellow and the fairey overdrive stuck might just have confused me a bit having never been in one.....told you I was a newb.

It's going to be running local trips round hilly country lanes in southern France so swapping to a tdi won't be off much benefit, anyway we have the CRV diesel for the longer trips. Thanks to all for the info on the tappets, not picked up on that anywhere, any more pearls of wisdom gratefully...

Hi guys, after asking a few questions and reading loads of threads, which has genuinely left me scared ****less at times, I've taken the plunge and purchased an 1981 2.6 6 pot unmolested 109 sw. I think 1981 is it's first reg date and it's probably a 1979 model 'cos as far as I can ascertain...
