    Steering wheel audio controls

Yeah, if it's BMW the round pin plug will be part of the cars loom - big square connector which slides apart then the plug can be pulled out. Then a lead goes between there and the stereo. I should say these work on my car, but there seems to be a few changes to the loom around this time -...

    Steering wheel audio controls

I recently used a PC9 X32 (with Alpine lead) on mine but I double checked I had the BMW round pins before I bought it. Mine is a 2001MY, 02 plate pre facelift.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Forever black' the external plastic. Got nearly 2 coats on and felt some spots of rain on my head. It's stopped now but I hope I don't go out later to find a black tide mark around the car...

Not today but on Friday I stripped out the load space and laid some extra sound deadening CCF which has cut the exhaust sound almost completely. Also replaced the headunit and separate BT hands free with a headunit that does both.

You're quite right, I should have said for an FBH.

Not if there's no water flow because it's bypassed or blocked off, the aux heaters heat the engine coolant, which then flows through the matrix. They aren't independent.

Doesn't look too bad, hopefully just the bumper that's pushed the bonnet up. It's a big empty space behind that dent in the bumper so may be lucky. Freelanders are surprisingly tough, had an accidental side swipe with a BMW X3 a month or so ago. Big dent in his front wing and maybe a crease on...

    exhaust fumes entering tailgate window

On a 5 door it's a bit odd but a 3 door with roof folded or hardback removed it makes more sense.

    Temperature sensor (Outside )

Is it the one for the FBH? I'm looking to get this one from Britcar - JWL000020 I read somewhere the green ones have a better operating range.

At the moment they are fed from the ignition live on the fuse panel (through an inline fuse). There's a handy wire route almost straight down to the fuse panel. Just had to remove the top of the cowl, there are two moulding webs either side that the sockets fit between, and the sockets have...

    i need some advise

Sounds like the dealer is being a complete cock. Unless you absolutely need 4WD right now, I'd take the VCU off again until you get the tyres and a new VCU sorted. This will help keep strain off the IRD and dif, and may help narrow down the vibration fault. Maybe get another couple of...

Ran a bead of sealant into the joins on the hardtop. Hopefully that was the source of the watermarks on the boot trim.

What sort of dealer was it? The sort that has 3 props and VCU's just laying around waiting to be used? Sounds like a fob off to me.

Yes it does. To switch them to dipped pull the stalk back again. It toggles.

so she took it off road

Why doesn't the HDC work, is it the wiring to the switch or something deeper? Not been off road with mine yet but I've "played" with the HDC on some stupidly steep hills near home. It's odd crawling down hill with no feet on the pedals.
