    Dave Smith's Freelander

Not much help but it looks a little different to my TD4. On mine the white piece fits inside a moulding on the side of the reservoir with the plug facing the front. Looks like you don't have a place for it to go? Could it have had a different master cylinder fitted in its life? Mine looks like...

    rear window

Is it a 3 door? If so was the impact hard enough that it could have shifted the hard / soft back? If so have a go at reseating the roof - the tail glass winds down automatically if the roof is folded or removed.

First time freelander owner needs advice

A lot of your troubles will be fixed once you sort the rear window drive. The rear wiper and heated screen only work when the window is fully shut, and the spinning noise is probably the window motor trying to lower the window to let the door open. I guess the window is tied up closed but not...

Heated seats not switching off with ignition

2 things I'd try to start with. Swap the relay with the passenger seat one, the contacts might be sticking on. If not that I'd swap the seat switch with the passenger seat one too, same thing but I'm more inclined to think the relay.

Sounds like a result all round. Hope it works out.

    The 3 amigo's plus hand-break light

Interested to find out what this is. I can't help with the fault but I had the 3 amigos plus handbrake LEDs torn from my instruments by the shaved ape who owned it before. Had the error codes checked and all that was there was one of the rear abs sensors (historical). Can't see why that would...

Well first drive with the night breakers tonight and... Well they are a bit whiter and a bit brighter, but not quite the revelation that some raving reviews would lead you to believe. Certainly no challenger to HIDs but then again they are legal and safe in early headlights. I'd say worth a...

What have you done to your Freelander today

After the alternator failed last week decided to fit a VDO voltmeter to lower dash to help keep an eye on things, and one of my headlamps had blown so replaced both with Osram night breaker unlimited ones. Bring on the long winter nights...

looking to buy but would like a steer

Good write up. I'd add have a good look at the instruments, checking that all of the appropriate lights come on during the start up check. If the ABS, TC or HDC lights don't work chances are someone has ripped the leds from the dash to hide a fault.

Same as Brack, some ape had levered the three amigos plus the handbrake LEDs out of my dash. Was a bugger to resolder.

    Fuse box worries

Is it petrol or deisel? Fl6 is for the glow plugs so if petrol, you wind need it anyway. Not sure on others. Here's a handy link http://macassemble.com/lrm/freelander/Freelander%20Electrical%20Library%20(2003).pdf According to this R5 is North America only and FL10 is not used.
