Hi Thanks for the reply; sorry for my late one ! I read about the dodgy wiring and I will have a clean up of the ends. I have no bass in my speakers (all sounds like tweeters) and the sub is temperamental (mostly off but booms when it cuts in) would Suggest dodgy connection or bad wiring but...

Thanks for the reply - the starter motor turns fine (i replaced the battery with a Bosch S5 and had a diagnostic check on the SM and Alt and both are in very good order). It is intermittent - when the lights are off it starts fine off 1 turn. When they are on - trouble starting. Taking it it...

Thanks for the reply - did you get the eng temp gauge at the same time also? I have replaced the brake switch. Its just weird that it all happens at the same time and delays start up. I think the ecm is getting a wrong reading on first ignition for the engine temperature and is stopping...

I had a spare hour last night and got under the bonnet - did the easiest check of multimeter across the terminals - 12.17v! New battery this weekend will hopefully sort it!

£3k isnt to bad for that car at your age - i'm 22 and mine came to £850 with 1 year n/c and advanced driving etc. I get charged extra due to been in the forces - reckon i'm some boy racer!
