Well it works for me, been left for a few weeks and still starts first time, battery at correct v. So i guess I'm lucky.

    Battery or alternator?

Saint's right - Easiest check once battery is charged (should be around 12.6 v) is to start up and check the battery voltage again, should be around 14.5 v (Alt charging voltage). If its not then check your Earth, but since she started up and its common with the SM then doubt thats the issue...

    Noisy transmission

Would check the oil level and condition (and renew) before you buy a recon - big metal bits not good!

No worries, sounds like you might have an open circuit somewhere! Can be a bugger to chase. The only perm lives i know of are the Starting circuit, Alarm + Imob and lights. Some of the Ecu's will have a feed too. Would def. recommend a bigger battery, and see how you get on - Would also...

Check the Solenoid for LR selection, most likely culprit. The terminals corrode badly when its not used for a while.

Glad it was a simple fix! Just for your ref. mate - click you heard would have been from the solenoid on the starter (inertia type). That would have ruled out the BECM etc. as the immobiliser was off and allowing amps to the SM. Only other thing to check is earth return (common with the ALT) and...

P38 on springs- Poor ride quality!

Wouldn't recommend used Air Springs (depending on how long you are wanting to keep it….false economy in the long term). Sounds like you are doing a bit off off roading…few people on here seem to use Arnot 3, I'm putting 2's on mine as they are perfectly adequate for my...

Had to beef up a truck and we decided to put extra axle on. Think first decision you have to make is whether you want either - 1) 6 wd (a much bigger job) 2) 4 wd and a dead axle (still a big job) Usage would dictate - if its for load bearing only then 4wd would do the job, wouldn't imagine...
