    new here with prob

I had a very similar problem with the brake light switch causing this problem. When it goes faulty it can cause the ECU to do all sorts of funny things! I may be talking rubbish but its worth a look.

    Heater motor

Resistance is measured in Ohm's. What you need to do is remove the suspected faulty resistor and read the colour codes to determine the value. Compare them to the chart on the links below to get your value. Electronics Reference: Resistor Color Code Guide Resistor Color Code, Tutorial...

    Land Rover LRX

Because apparently this is going to be the freelander version of the RR sport. hence in the freelander section. Makes a change to talk about something other than bloody faults...

    Land Rover LRX

Has everyone seen the LRX then? Apparently LR will def be manufacturing it and we should see it out in 2010! I hope they keep the styling the same. What does everyone else think? I may have to speak nicely to the bank manager next year!:)

    Freelander 2.0di. Help please!

That is very true. Glad to have it back, and working this time!:D

    Heater motor

I would say it's the switch as the rest of the speeds work. If it was the motor it wouldnt work at all. The contacts get dirty and wear with age causing a bad or no connection. I had this with my Hippo, replaced the switch and everything is ok now.

    Freelander 2.0di. Help please!

Right, well it's back and this time it is fixed. Apparently, and I am not sure I agree but a sensor plug and a broken wire was the problem. He also changed the TPS and still says it was also at fault. I feel like he has taken advantage of my lack of knowledge in this area really as I find it...

    Freelander 2.0di. Help please!

Thanks Darmain. Could the crankshaft sensor cause the engine to do this? I am just thinking if it is dirty it could be sending wrong signals about crankshaft speed to the ecu? Thanks

    Freelander 2.0DI Starting problems

Thought this might help someone. I had problems with my Freelander starting and giving off lots of white smoke in the morning. I tried a new glow plug relay and new plugs. This didnt solve the problem. We discovered that there was only 2.5 volts present at the relay which obviously suggested...

    Freelander 2.0di. Help please!

Hello All, You have probably seen a few of my posts about this but here goes again as its still a problem. I have had my Hippo for about 6-7 weeks now and it has been fine until last week when it started to judder and lose power. It also started to throttle up on it's own... I sent it to my...

    Freelander 2.0DI loss of power!

Surely we cant be the only ones to have this problem, Richard. Can I ask if anyone else has had this problem and had it fixed please let me know. It's in the garage again! Thanks

    1985 Defender 90

Thanks Richard that does help. I am considering the hard wire option as I think its the plugs not getting hot enough due to a wiring fault. Will the description in the first post work? Thanks

    1985 Defender 90

Hi All, I have a 1985 Defender and its a pain in the arse to start. It kicks out loads of white smoke and takes forever to kick up. Now with the Discovery and Freelander they have Relays to control the plugs. I am assuming with the Defender there is no such relay as the switch on and off...

    Freelander 2.0DI loss of power!

Hi Richard, Mine is exactly as you described however my local LR specialist has charged me 435.00 pounds to fix it and its exactly the same. I have requested he fits my original TPS and send the 235.00 pounds part back. He seems to think it may have thrown the programme or something but I...

    Freelander 2.0DI loss of power!

Hmmmm. You may be correct there but looking at the position of the TPS I doubt there has been suficient ingress of water to get anywhere close to it. Also, the wet stops just below the top of the pedal pads so higher up near the TPS is bone dry... Does anyone know how this is getting in...

    Freelander 2.0DI loss of power!

Just to add on a different "problem" The drivers side foot well is soaking wet, as is the floor locker in the boot. Has anyone fixed this and how do I do it? Thanks

    Freelander 2.0DI loss of power!

Yes its the Rover L series 2.0ltr Turbo Diesel not the BMW TD4 in later models.

    Freelander 2.0DI loss of power!

Hi Darmain, Thanks for the help again. I have searched on TPS and got a quote from my local independent LR parts specialist and there coming up with around 250.00 pounds. Does this sound too expensive to you? Thanks L
