Knowing whether it is over or under 5l will determine if I buy 1 or 2 containers of oil, ballpark amount will do and i'll level off via the dipstick when off the ramps.....

TD4 is due an oil change, but recall that I overfilled it the last time due to the official spec oil capacity being too much. Can someone remind me what the proper capacity is? The search function isn't working for me hence the question.....cheers.

I wouldn't bother with the cheap ebay xenon lookalikes. I bought a set for about a fiver and they were no different from standard. You would be better shelling out for the Philips Extreme bulbs (at about £15 a pair on ebay) - noticeable difference, nice sharper bright white beam which is better...

Ok thanks, i'll give it a further check around the seals....I never lock the cubby and since the lock was damaged anyway I just removed the lock assembly which gives some useful ventilation. The carpets around the lid always seem to be dry so i'm perplexed how it could be an external leak, but...

I've got the usual problem with water in the boot cubby, pretty sure it is condensation related (exhaust) rather than a seal leak. Has anyone tried to insulate the cubby from heat off the exhaust? I think perhaps a heat shield or perhaps some adhesive insulating material applied to the underside?

If yer going off the tarmac, go for 215/80/15 ATs which will give you about an inch lift - i've stuck a set of toyo 785 all terrains on and they are good on and off road.

My garage just fitted OE freelander clutch, slave and bearing for £650. Car is now transformed.

The time has come for clutch replacement - managed to get a year out of my 2003 TD4 since I bought it last January, but 1st & reverse are now getting quite tricky.....the master cylinder was replaced about 6 months ago as a 'may as well try it' quick replacement, however I need to get the clutch...

I had very same problem in my 03 TD4 - original suspicion was glow plugs, which the local garage 'diagnosed' and replaced - to no avail. Turned out it was a leaking injector.

That sounds about right - this is a useful converter here if changing wheel/tyre size - Car / SUV / Van / Light Truck Tire Calculations Since I've moved from 215/65/16 to 215/80/15, for every 2 miles my car travels it now under-reads the distance by 0.1 mile. Bugger if you are claiming mileage...

Any ideas folks? I might unplug the original Bosch maf to test....(90K miles on car), although I would have thought the Synergy2 would over-ride this. Would a maf problem show engine light? It's ok at cold, just when heater guage sits on the middle (ie warmed up), and then it will drive...
