I just replaced my temp sender. The old one was like yours, it would move up to the bottom mark on the gauge and stay there. I think it was from a different engine or something because the new one I put in looked very slightly different. You'll probably have to go for a quick drive to check it...

I noticed it yesterday. It's on the left side of the engine, bolted onto the chassis. It's a small cylinder with a wire coming out, which isn't attached to anything. I know the pic isn't great but it's in a hard to see place, this is looking upwards from lying underneath...

Oh ok. My dash light comes on when the headlights are on, which I thought was normal as that's what modern cars do. Think I'll just leave it as it is

Just found this old topic and have a question. On my series 3 I don't have the second switch from the right on the top row. The one to the left of the headlight switch. What is supposed to be there? There is still the small icon but I don't know what it's a picture of.

I'm sure when I was getting quotes some of them used the phrase "covered on all paved byways" or something to that effect. Make sure to look out for anything like that!

I think the senders with two contacts are meant for diesels. One contact is for the fuel gauge, the other is for the low fuel warning light. The warning light isn't as important in a petrol so they don't have it.

THis is such a simple idea! I'm still in the planning stages for storage for my 88" but will likely be using this.

Having this same problem with transfer box and rear diff. Side of a spanner worked on the front one but can't get either of the other two to budge. Is there a special tool for it? Must be otherwise why would they make it like that.

Well just for anyone interested. In the end I used some instant gasket stuff, has worked so far! I think the previous owner had done the same thing because there was no washer in there to start with, just some white rubbery remains. I smeared both the housing and filter cover with oil first...

Can you just pour it down the drain? My local council tip has a thing that I pour my old oil into (think it gets recycled) but I don't think they have anything for coolant.

I was trying to get some silver/black ones for my series 3 but they just seemed REALLY expensive for what they are.

My is pretty much all original and I love it! Only thing that's from a different car are the seats, which I think I'll change soon. I honestly don't find mine uncomfortable and the lack of speed really doesn't bother me.

Been thinking about the best way to get oil in there for a while. I haven't tried a garden sprayer but just assumed they wouldn't be able to push the EP90 through? A pump like in the first post looks good, think I'll try and get one of them.

£2800 for insurance! That's insane. I'm 21 and my Series 3 cost me ~£350 to insure with Lancaster.

My series 3 has no PAS and I have never found it a problem. Even when I first got it, yes it's heavy but nothing ridiculous.
