    Freelander in the snow

Ok I did this. Have a wad of pictures, is it the part in the middle, back or front though? :o

    Freelander in the snow

..and for those who like the pictures (the slush isn't as slippy at the snow.)...

    Freelander in the snow

There seems to be a good amount of treat on the tires. Perhaps they just aren't suited to snow though:

    Freelander sliding in the snow

Tried it this morning with the missus, she couldn't do the in car bit (booting it part) so she had to give me the thumbs up or down while watching the back wheels. She said she didn't know..:doh::doh:

    Freelander sliding in the snow

We're talking driving out the street at 5 miles an hour. I wasn't speeding.. :)

    Freelander sliding in the snow

lol I don't expect to slide in a Freelander, they are supposed to be excellent in the snow. :p

    Freelander sliding in the snow

My net was playing up the night of the post, I wasn't sure if I'd posted one or not. Apologies

    Freelander in the snow

I'm really not sure if they have ever been removed, it had a couple of owners prior to me owning it. As far as I know the tires are just standard tires, definitely not low profiles though. I'll try TD4_4x4's suggestion with the wheel spinny thing and report back with my findings. Thanks guys

    Freelander sliding in the snow

I am a complete noob when it comes to the mechanics of cars (4x4's). 1.8 2003 Kalihari in really struggling in the snow. It slips left, you correct it, it slips right. Surely it's not the tires that are causing this? Am I right to assume the 4 wheel drive isn't kicking in and/or the VCU is...

Gaylanders are great in the snow

Tires have plenty tread but I'll borrow a tread gauge to find out exactly how bad/good they are.

Gaylanders are great in the snow

Lol it's a 1.8 Petrol so no slow diesel. Unfortunately the video seems to have been removed by the user so I can't view the footage. Still not sure if the 4 wheel drive is working.

Gaylanders are great in the snow

I dunno mate. As Missing Link says earlier in this thread it's entirely passive so there is no indicator so I have no idea if it's working or how to check. Eh I didn't say that... :D

    Freelander stereo Stalk controls

I'm still no further forward with this. Rave was not really of any real help. I have tried contacting a few places regarding the cables and which one I require but hit a brick wall. Next step will need to be taking it to an auto audio specialist to see if they can help. Hopefully not too costly.

    The 3 amigo's

Not sure what you mean. I got the new parts just from googling a Land-rover parts online store. :)

Gaylanders are great in the snow

Our 1.8 Kalahari is great in the snow too. But not at speed. I was travelling to Aviemore just after the new year and overtook someone on a dual carriage way at about 50 miles an hour. The outside lane had a lot of slush on it and the back end started to slide, as I corrected it the back it...
