I really can't see any sign of water leaking anywhere. The carpets are dry, although I have heard that there's a waterproof under carpet which I'm not sure how to access. I'll have a closer look at the engine over the next few days. Cheers.

Well little update. After full HG fix, the Freelander is still guzzling water. Having to top it up every few days. Worryingly sometimes we have a look and the expansion tank is completely empty. We're thinking it happens more frequently at the moment because we are putting on the blowers on...

You were correct the first time. The rods have came off of the front or middle part of the exhaust. Typically the cat converter part which is most expensive as far as I'm aware. Going to get it welded during the week. Thanks for your help.

Oh right, I was under the impression that these metal rods had came off the car itself.

So the Freelander 2003 went in for an oil change and came out with a different problem. Mechanic handed me these two pieces of metal/rust and said he had tied the exhaust on with wire until I get them re-welded or bought new. I'm thinking these are so rusty they look like medieval and...
