Bosch refurbished injectors, surely they can't be faulty in less than 2 hours?

So my problem is back, won't start when warm. Today I've replaced the other 3 injectors and the glow plugs as 3 were duff. To recap I've done the following: Replaced HP pump with a refurbished unit Replaced all the injectors bought from a Bosch specialist Replaced cam sensor Diagnostic shows...

I had exactly the same issue. Turned out it was an injector, it was leaking that badly when warm the rail struggled to get up to pressure meaning the car took an age to start. Do a leak off test to confirm one or more bad injectors.

Picked up the refurbished injector today, couldn't wait so fitted it when I got home at 5:30. Took 45 minutes from start to finish and that was with using a head torch lol. Car now starts first time and much smoother idle. I've done about 300 miles today and started the job with a hot engine...

The diesel specialist agree the faulty injector is the one leaking the most. Picking it up today, hopefully it'll be straight forward to do.

Thanks Nodge, the pump is a recon unit and the poor starting was present with the old pump, hopefully it's not the pump. Spoke to a Bosch specialist who are reconditioning an injector for me, will pick it up tomorrow and get it fitted hopefully curing the problem

Also make sure they are using the correct Land Rover fluid, it is dark green, what colour is the fluid in there now?

Get them to drain the system and change the reservoir. The filter will be blocked and simply changing the fluid will displace some of the crud for a while. It will then clog the filter again causing the issues you are having.

No it doesn't. There was an issue on early models where the pump would prematurely fail due to weld splatter in the rack. The bits of weld get ground up by the pump which in turn slowly blocks the the filter in the reservoir, this then restricts the flow of PAS fluid causing heavy steering and...

Fuel burning heater? Mine makes a wirring noise when shutting down. Check under the passenger side bumper near the wheel, if there is a small exhaust you have a FBH. Didn't think they were fitted to 06 cars though.

Cheers Nodge, those are the ones. I've put it back together as I need it Monday. I'll get em ordered and do it over the Christmas hols. Gonna have to do the passenger wishbone and drop link as well as the boots are split. It never rains...

So, job in progress. Near side strut replaced, the track rod end ball joint didn't want to come out, eventually removed with a bit of brute force! Does anyone have a part number for the white bump stop that sits on top of the shock, mines goosed. Cheers
