    Are your brake lights working?

    Rear light issue

I had the same issue and ended replacing the housing. No problems since

Freelander 1 Does brake light switch need to register

Assuming you have the updated switch with new loom I had exactly the same problem as you. Check the switch is properly fitted, any movement means it is not. There are two blue plastic contacts on the top of the switch where it fits to the car, I can only assume that these need to be clicked in...

Freelander 1 Frustrating morning belting the propshaft.

Point taken mate. I'll get a new bolt fitted when I do the bearings again in a couple of weeks. Don't suppose you know what the part number is for the U shaped spacer do you?

Freelander 1 Frustrating morning belting the propshaft.

Can't see there being enough movement in the rear diff to allow the prop to come out though Hippo

Freelander 1 Frustrating morning belting the propshaft.

I wouldn't worry about doing this. I replaced the VCU carrier bearings on mine and noticed one of the bolts was missing, never replaced it and done over 30k since then. It was mentioned on the MOT last week that the rear UJ was showing signs of wear, I guess this is due to the missing bolt...

    TD4 no go no hope

Hi mate i feel your pain. I've been through exactly what you have. After changing the HP pump, all the injectors, the cam sensor and fitting the overlay harness to the fuel rail pressure sensor I still had a no start. Mine would run on easy start and die straight away. Then the following...

Freelander 1 Bad things about the freelander in the snow...

These are fantastic in the snow, had 6 of em over the years. I'm a telecoms engineer and have to get to remote sites in all weather conditions. I could buy a new disco but prefer the little freelander as they are cheap as chips and so capable. Below is a picture from yesterday, one of our...

    Td4 injector question

To be honest if one has gone the others are not far behind. I replaced 1 faulty injector (number 4) which cleared my poor starting for a couple of weeks. Ended up doing the other 3 shortly after. It now runs better than ever. The Bosch place I got them from said they thought they'd see me...

    Other Freelander TD4 Issue

Needs a new housing. Mine went the same and although I had electrical continuity through the bulb contacts it just wouldn't work. Bought a new one from Land Rover and it worked straight away. Was less than £30 if I remember.

Freelander 1 TD4 warm start problems

Right it's running thank xxxx. Not sure what the issue was as this morning I swapped the solenoid from my old pump (with new seals) replaced the two rubber fuel pipes on the pump with genuine ones and replaced the HP rail sensor. Hopefully that's ended it!

Freelander 1 TD4 warm start problems

Bit of an update. I've replaced the seals on my old fuel pressure regulator and refitted it. I've also fitted new rubber hoses coming of the HP pump, I had to cut the old ones off and used straight fuel pipe, this didn't like being bent at 90 degrees so used jubilee clips on the bend to stop it...

Freelander 1 TD4 warm start problems

Cheers mate, got it out and the seals look fine, bought the o ring, collar and gasket today just in case and will replace them anyway. Had the LP fuel rail off and switched the ignition on, fuel shot out about 10 ft in the air so getting fuel to the HP pump. Tried easy start but it runs an...

Freelander 1 TD4 warm start problems

Thanks Nodge, took my old pump apart and found the green o ring was ok but the white support collar had seen better days. Picking up the a new collar and o ring from the Bosch agent tomorrow, he said they would be pennies. If that fixes the problem I will not be a happy bunny. Edit to add...

Freelander 1 TD4 warm start problems

So another £100 quid or so down and still not fixed the thing. Car refuses to start at all now. Bought the overlay harness and fitted it about an hour ago. On the upside I found why the security system was all to cock, three bent pins in the ECU, sorted these and all readings on the scanner...

Freelander 1 TD4 warm start problems

I'm now thinking it's an immobiliser fault. Key in position 2 and diagnostic shows; all doors open when they are closed, alarm activated when it's not, bonnet closed when its open, ignition off when it's on, key in ignition which is correct? Any ideas?

I'm considering changing this next but once started it runs perfectly.
