    Freelander 1 Air con issue

Cheers. I'll check for voltage at the wire, if there is I guess I'll have to replace the compressor. How much of a job is it? A local garage that does air con says they'll empty and then refill it FOC. They also said they'd replace the compressor for £50 labour if I supply one. Think of...

    Brakes suddenly stopped working

This exact thing happened to me, ot was indeed the rear shoes had moved allowing the position to pop out. Was working in London at the time, cost me nigh on 400 quid to have both sides replaced. Had no choice as I was so far from home otherwise I'd have done it myself.

    Freelander 1 Air con issue

Hi all, wondering if anyone can help please. My TD4 AC stopped working one day. Took it to be regassed, was told the system was full already but as the machine was automatic it did its thing and replaced the gas as well as vacuum test. Not faults logged and correct amount of gas in the...

    Advice people on srs light

Probably connection under the seat, mine does it every so often. Where are you? I have a scanner that will connect to the SRS ecu and can reset it for you.

Freelander 1 Air con compressor part number

Hi all, does anyone know the part number for the AC compressor on a 2005 TD4, want to get one of eBay today but my car is currently in the garage. Also it looks like the pump of a rover 75 will fit, if so there's more of these and they seem cheaper. Cheers Simon

Freelander 1 Lift kit and wheels

Thanks Nodge. Looking on eBay there are lots of 16" Alloys which I'd be happy with, I'll just paint them black. Will a set off a 2002 fit my 2005?

Freelander 1 Lift kit and wheels

Morning all. Looking to get a lift kit and new wheels and tyres for my FL1. A 40mm lift looks the best option as it less work, will I need camber bolts with this? I'm going to get some 16" moduars and fit some Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tyres, what's the biggest I can go to with these? I'll...

    TD4 new injectors poor starting

I had one faulty injector which I replaced with a refurbished unit. Mine did exactly the same as yours. Started perfectly straight after fitting and ran like a dream for a day. Then the hard starting returned so I went back to the diesel specialist I bought it from to ask for advice, he said...

    Won’t start

I agree completely, I had exactly the same issues as the OP and changed everything and more. The HP pump was recon so I didn't consider it could be faulty. Changed the seals on the regulator off the old pump and put it in the recon pump, started straight away, which was actually quite...

how does the freelander drive in snow?

This was taken in February half way down the track from one of our sites. A couple of years ago I was working in the Scottish Highlands and got through snow up to the bumper, took a couple of run ups though

how does the freelander drive in snow?

Very good in the snow particularly with winter tyres. I use mine for work, the other lads who have Hiluxs normally jump in with me as they are crap in the snow. I did crash it once coming down a steep icy hill, HDC gave up and I hit a wall which twisted the shock absorber, luckily no other...

Freelander 1 What mileage is your Freelander 1 on?

2004 TD4 with 173000 miles. My old 2006 Commercial had 249k on it before I sold it for 400 quid. Thought the head gasket had gone, turns out it was the oil cooler had split. Still see it around now.

Freelander 2 - illusive fault need help!

It sounds like the valve body in the transmission. You have a TF80 gearbox that was fitted to many vehicles. I had an XC90 that uses the same box which had similar issues, changing the fluid helped a little and then one day it went bang, literally. What you are experiencing is excessive shift...

    Unknown noise

It won't go bang as it's a bearing that's faulty, it'll just get louder until you get to the point where you think I shouldn't be driving this anymore. I would get recovery to be honest.

Will this injector removal tool work? TD4

Starter doesn't need to be removed. I just removed the plastic intake pipe from the front of the engine.
