whats the difference in the military shackles then? i take it they give a bit more lift? mine at the moment has got a 6 cylinder in but i plan to fit a 200/300tdi - do you know if there will be much weight difference?

whats the spec on that one dr e. ? are they 33"s ? yeah i did wonder? but if you adjust the shackles would you have to wedge the axle seat on the spring to keep the diff angle right? :confused::confused: i'm new to all this landrover stuff:D:D

anyone know if i fit these springs will a set of 33" tyres with a 1" lift or would i need to fit longer shackles anyway? cheers :)

i will - i emailed both owen springs and GB springs yesterday :) i'll proberbly end up going for GB rather than taking a risk on owens - at least they are both UK manufactured. i'm not in a mad rush as ive plenty to do to get mine on the road before i need springs -it'd be just my luck for a...

how much is a set of GB springs? is it best to buy direct from them? i'm after rears for a S3 109"

had a prod around underneith today theres a few bits more welding ive found on the chassis but the main one is the rear spring front hanger i'm going to take the n/s front wing off to get better access to the bulkhead and the inner wing piece could do with replaceing but it looks like they...

yes ive searched on here and GB springs definitely look favourite - i was only thinking of owen springs as they are local, just in case i had any issues and of course supporting local industry :) i didnt know even if they manufacture for other company's may be even GB springs???

has anyone used owen springs? they are local to me so i was considering getting some rear parabolics off them just wondered if anyone had any reviews/feedback?

i have done the same - bought an old series 3 and plan on travelling over the alps in it next year, everyone says i should have bought a discovery but to me the landrover i've always wanted is a series or defender:cool: i know they arn't as refined but i dont care! after i've been on my trip...

thanks i would like the spare on the back door long term so i'll fix the new mount on higher up. had another crack at starting it today - getting power to the coil and the points but the plugs are black and the leads are very corroded - ive got a new set of plugs to try and gonna see if i can...

yeah thats it! sams is right you can see the pic with it on and you'd be able to hitch a trailer up. ive seen another like mine but i cant find the pic now - just wondered why its so low ??

no real progress to report other than she is home :) (cheers Pete once again) managed to take a few photos:cool: i'm assuming the plate on the rear door at one time had a spare bracket there? seems odd, just it looks a little low like the tyre would foul the tow hitch is that right?
