    New Clutch Hydraulic System

In that case, it's got to be the free play between the end of the pushrod and the MC piston. It's raining here, too, but I'm tempted to have a go as the job has gone really well, but it bugs me when things aren't quite right!

    New Clutch Hydraulic System

Maybe I didn't introduce enough free play between the pushrod and the MC piston. I'll have another go when it stops raining!

    New Clutch Hydraulic System

Yes, I did. It looks like if I screw in item 4 it will raise the pedal height. Can you please confirm this?

    New Clutch Hydraulic System

Thanks, neilly. Yes, the bleed nipple is at the top. I've just looked at the diagram and am confused by the nut on the front face of the pedal box in terms of which way does what! If I screw it in (having slackened off the locknuts on the MC pushrods, will that raise pedal height? Many...

    New Clutch Hydraulic System

Evening, All. Today I replaced both clutch master and slave cylinders and fitted a pedal box I had reconditioned that already had the new master cylinder in it. The new pedal box is the later type with the double curly spring. When it came to filling the system with clutch fluid and bleeding...

    Brake Question

    That's good news!

    Brake Question

Great. Thanks for all the advice. I'll adjust first, replace second. I take it the adjustment route involves no bleeding, fluid etc?

    Brake Question

Ok. How do I do that, please?

    Brake Question

Evening, All. I recently had 4 new callipers, discs and pad sets fitted and the brake lines renewed. The garage obviously bled the system and I have allowed everything to bed in, covering a fair few miles. However, despite several bleeds since, I'm not completely convinced by the effectiveness...

Ninety fuel and temperature gauges not working

Try putting in a new earth for each guage. My temperature guage was always reading off the scale hot until I fitted a dedicated earth. Now it's fine.

    Retrofit Low Fuel Warning Light?

Just looked again, in case my memory was unreliable, and I have the blanked off red connector. Do I simply wire this to the dash light? Presumably an earth is also needed?

    Retrofit Low Fuel Warning Light?

Evening, All. My 1993 200 Tdi D90 does not have a low fuel warning light. Well, it does, as this is represented on the dash, but the feature is not wired in. Is it possible to enable this facility retrospectively? I've looked at the sender under the driver's seat and the necessary wiring is...

What have you done to your Landie today.

I bled my brakes after new callipers, discs and pads had been fitted. i also sorted out the earth on the temperature guage so I stand a chance of knowing if the engine's overheating...

    Clutch Pedal Box

Thank you. I've found a 300tdi one after all that! I'm going to replace the clutch master cylinder, so thought I could put a new one into a cleaned up pedal box off the car, and then swap the whole gubbins in. I've got new gaskets waiting, too. Received wisdom seems to suggest replacing the...

    Trip meter not working

I had this problem after taking my speedo apart to sort out the melted bulb holder. If I remove the rubber cover over the reset knob, it works fine; if I replace it, it exhibits the very same issue you describe. Try removing the rubber cover and see what happens.

    Beware of this eBay seller

Morning, All. I recently purchased some trim for my Defender from an eBay seller who never delivered. He claims the parts are with the courier, but can't tell me which courier.... Anyway, just be careful with this guy as I suspect he is not entirely trustworthy. Needless to say, I've heard no...
