    Instrument build holder

Update: after some fettling I've got the bulb holder to work again, so all good. Many thanks for all your help.:)

What have you done to your Landie today.

Neilly, here you go: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TIM-Mechanical-Water-Temperature-Temp-Gauge-Capilliary-Type-52mm-/301238542214 The delivery was super quick and the gauge seems great. Many thanks, Dom

What have you done to your Landie today.

Today I fitted a TIM capilliary water temperature gauge, which was very straightforward. It came with the correct adaptor to screw straight into the thermostat housing and was a good price at £30 delivered. No more readings in apples and pears from now on!

Thanks, Steve. It's the actual bulb holders I'm after, rather than the plastic sleeve that mounts into the back of the instrument.

Ok. All I know is it's the standard gauge as fitted to a 200Tdi. Like this one...

Yes, I thought I'd sussed the OEM gauge, but I was new to Defenders then...

I think I'll have a go at fettling it off the car. The dash is coming off soon, anyway, so I can fit a new temperature guage that actually gives me a realistic idea of how hot the car is running!

Thank you for your replies. It doesn't appear to be any of these.... I've just put the dash back together or else I'd post a photo. It is the bulb holder for the volt meter, not that I think that makes a difference. It's smooth sided and quite long. The bulbs push into it (or T10 LEDs) and...

That doesn't look like the right one, I'm afraid. Mine does not have spade connectors. Thanks for your reply, mind!

It could well be item 16. The holder simply pushes into the plastic tube on the back of each instrument.

Afternoon, All. I'm after the part number or a link to the bulb holder that slides into the back of the instruments. I've successfully replaced the original bulbs with LEDs, but one of the actual holders is on the blink. I've got a 1993 200 Tdi. Just noticed a major typo in the title, but I...

    Red 130 TD5 Tipper Stolen 28.5.17

Red 130 TD5 Tipper GV04 PNN stolen from near Binfield in Berkshire on Saturday night from my mate's drive. He's gutted. Please keep your eyes open. Apparently, 4 other Landies were stolen over the weekend in Berkshire, as well as a number of caravans. Any information gratefully received.

    New Clutch Hydraulic System

Yes, mine's only a humble 200 Tdi. I swapped the pedal box as I felt it was easier to buy a second hand one, strip it and repaint it etc on the bench, while also fitting the MC off the car. An ulterior motive was to generate a lighter clutch action by using a later box with the double coil...

    New Clutch Hydraulic System

Tried a quick bleed this morning, having left the pedal depressed overnight. The pedal is light, but smooth. Gear changes are nice and there's no clutch slip. Job's a good'un.

    New Clutch Hydraulic System

I couldn't resist another go at adjusting the setup in the rain last night with a torch.... Item 4 in the diagram, when screwed in, makes the pedal move closer to the floor. At the moment I've unscrewed it to the point whereby I can have the pedal as high as possible with it only just touching...

Well, it works and I know I'm close, so that's not too bad. At least I understand better now. Thank you very much for your help.:)
