Can i fill it with thick grease instead?

I changed my oil seal on the swivel a couple of weeks ago and it still leaked so today ive had it all off again, cleaned it up and put it all back together with new plates and everything and put the one shot grease in. It started leaking straight away so on closer inspection i noticed the seal...

Right then guys im picking up the parts this week for the job (yes, ive still not done it lol).... Before i go and buy one will i need a bearing puller or is there an alternative to get the inner one out?

Yes that makes sense. So im gona be needing a new seal then, what would it be called or should i just explain to him what i want?

Where the half shaft goes into the swivel ball, should that seal be a tight fit? Mine has gaps if i move the half shaft around. Does this make sense?

Ok then ill get some new ones and replace them, the last guy who had it might have tightened them already. Thanks for the detail mrchurchill :)

Yeh this is my first landy apart from a lightweight i had for a month or two :) im trying to learn but takes time lol Ill have a go at tightening them up then.... 52mm sockets the tool i believe?

With the bearings being tapered, does this mean i can just tighten them up?

I remember he said something about unbolting the shock... Bolt the block on then bolt the shock to the block?

I was talking to my brother in law the other day and he was trying to explain about these blocks he had from a friend which acted as a lift for his landy. Has any of you heard of such things?... He said he had some made 7" lift and the lad who makes them at his work place will only want £20...
