What have you done to your Landie today.

Repaired a hole in the bulkhead on the seam just under the plate for the wiper motor, waiting patiently to test that it is now watertight.

    2003 GS D2 40k miles - £10k - is this realistic?

Have to agree with you when you start spending that money some other options do start to become appealing, XC90 or Touareg possibly even though my heart lies with the Discovery.

    Opinion on wings

Yeah I know but then I would need to constantly replace bicycle brake cables on the windows, vcu's, diffs, fallen off doors and the embarrassment of looking like a total fanny.

    Rear view camera.

I have my camera right in the middle of the bumper but I hardly ever remember to use it because I didn't wire it up to turn on automatically.

    Opinion on wings

You know that problem with "electrolytic corrosion" or rust, on the front wing where the bumper end caps bolt in. So option 1 replace both wings, one has some unrelated damage so needs replaced anyway. Option 2 replace the one bashed one and buy an HD bumper that wraps around, one piece...

    honesty please

I agree with the above that you probably overpaid to begin with but £450 to set it all right seems like in the long run, knowing those jobs won't just crop up in a years time it probably works out ok. The argument I had with myself about selling and buying a slightly newer one is that at least...

    Engine stalls while driving

The battery light coming on is just because your key is at position 2. I would run some injector cleaner, change fuel filter and if it's still doing it change fuel pump, start with the cheapest thing first.

    Dual shocks?

There must be some flow chart of do I need it? Does it look good? Can I afford it? Will I get it anyway?

    Disco 1 seat switchs MOD?

Just clean them with coca cola or bicarbonate of soda or if you want to get all posh and fancy switch cleaner. Get somewhere clear to work because there are small parts, but it's really easy to clean.

    Think I found my leak

Just take the engine out, no bother :o I'm actually confused about how the hell you would even get into it even with the dash out. I don't think it can be accessed properly from the engine bay, I mean there is a small hole developing coming into the engine bay but I think this is a symptom...

    300tdi smokey on overrun.

Reduce black smoke emissions That one. Ignore that it says black smoke, it should clean the injectors which is one of the things that can cause the white smoke, the other things are water getting in and injector pump. Start with the cheapest fix obviously. I recently had the same trouble and...

    Think I found my leak

I've had a leak since time immemorial, I had the headlining out, sealed the sunroof drains, sikaflexed them on etc. Was ****ing about in the engine bay yesterday and spotted a a little rusty hole behind the thin metal pipes that run along the back of the engine bay, behind and slightly to the...
