Would the problem be the brake servo or the pump?

Done that and as you said small rush of air as pipe pulled out. Thing is it surely shouldn't need a push so hard you are really trying to lock the wheels at 30 mph? I've had this Defender for about 10 years as a works vehicle and about 4 years ago I bought it from my work and the brakes used to...

Would the problem be the brake servo or the pump?

Done that and pedal does dip slightly on restart.

Would the problem be the brake servo or the pump?

TDI 300 Defender 1997. Put a new brake vacuum pump on last year (britpart) and the brakes were slightly better but the pedal still seemed too solid and the effort too much for too little braking. I'm not hearing any servo noise either, and the pedal doesn't have the usual give it should with the...

    L322 vouge 2003 radio

Hi again, can anyone point me in the right direction to find the radio module? I believe there is a fuse on top of it that I have yet to check out. I'm on night shifts at the moment so replies are as and when but thanks for any input.

    L322 vouge 2003 radio

I haven't had sounds for over a year and was perusing some old threads trying to see what could be the problem. Trouble is that I'm an electrical numpty and although I've just renewed every brake pipe and mechanically service it myself I'm hopeless on electrics. The left hand button at the...

Bump Any one done the pipes on a L322 yet?

    Brake pipes

Hi all, haven't been on here for a while but hoping for a bit of advice. I'm wanting to replace most of the steel brake lines and flexi hoses to the rear of my L322 but am having problems getting the shields off without damaging them. They appear to be held on by plastic headed screws with...

Many thanks for that! Following a flat battery my keys appeared to only work manually until your instructions sorted them

    90/disco rear window wiper bodge

Needed a rear wiper motor assembly for the 300tdi ninety after a rear door replacement got the original lost but didn't like the prices being asked for a replacement so plumped for one off a Disco of around the same vintage. It's all fitted and wired in but the Disco replacement one didn't come...

    L322 rear brake flexihoses

Hi Dan, That sounds good! I seem to recall each flexi has a solid pipe at it's middle section that is bolted to the suspension arm, as a half way fixing point. Might that be a complication?

    L322 rear brake flexihoses

2003, TDV6 Vouge. I live in Scotland and they use a lot of salt up here so I know they are rotten as most of this vintage have had theirs replaced by now. I'm just surprised that they do not seem available as an after market part given the age of the vehicle.

    L322 rear brake flexihoses

I have been looking unsuccessfully for some rear brake hoses from all the usual suppliers as mine look decidedly dodgy. Is it a dealer job or does anyone know of a supplier please?

    300tdi or td5?

You can run the older engine on some veggie oil too:)
  17. M

    300tdi or td5?

The 300TDI has more torque low down and doesn't need revved to pull away from a standstill. I think the TD5 has more at the top end though. People who travel across Africa mostly rely on the older engine too as do (I believe) the British Army.

Best P38 to buy and what to look for

I must have had a relatively reliable one then! P38 2.5 HSE 1999. Did 40K over 3 years and apart from consumables cost me one air compressor. Sold it for 4K with 90K miles. It was regularly used off road too. Now have a L322 which may cost me a lot more.

    L322 radio/CD awol

Thanks all. The problem started about two weeks ago ( during a dry period- for a change) and seemed to be related to the battery having a total failure. It may be related to me trying to charge the battery on a trickle charger in situ that hasn't helped -as the alarm did not appreciate the mixed...

    L322 radio/CD awol

Did all the checks and still no joy although it has bought back to life the sat/nav which was inoperative for a year so not a wasted 20 minutes! Also tried pulling fuses 22 and 40 along with 49 to see if that helped but still no sound or display for the radio or CD. The telly works but without...
