Remove the door card and see if any water has got into the amp (i take it you mean the front only). If there is water in there the amp will blow. You can test the speaker by wiring it direct to another source ie mp3 player with headphone jack and a cut lead. Dont do it with the amp plugged in...

Well for £510 to replace with coils, i'd rather renew the complete EAS system and spend the weekend in the pub with the change.

The teflon ring is easy to replace, just make sure you glue the new O ring in place or it will leak.

Not a pig at all, it's an easy job just a bit fiddly. Simply remove the pump(make sure no air is in the system as it'll blow your glasses off)! take it to the dining table dissasemble as per instructions and fit new seal, refit and have a cuppa. Job done, about an hours work with hte pump off...

Rave cd download. Takes a while but saves a fortune!!

Right Here Down load the rave cd it's full of all the info you will need to maintain your rangie yourself. Do a search for "rave cd" its cd2 you need. It's a hugh file and ideally needs to be copied to cd or dvd. You shouldn't need a pump if it's running it'll need a new seal found Here.

There's nothing wrong with the tranny, they are supposed to change around the 2200ish rpm as long as you aint driving it like you stole it. It will change earlier if you keep right foot pressed very lightly on gas pedal. If it always changed at 1500rpm youd be doing 18 -20 mph in 4th gear...

But there is no way of altering/ adjusting it. its a sealed box!:confused:

Sounds like the pump seal is kaput, £30 off ebay. Springs will only cost around £220 - £240 for four and are a slice of gateux to fit yourself. :D

I suppose it's possible but wouldn't it have smoked before i fitted the chip? Won't hurt to take a look though.

They do seem a friendly bunch, Steve even gave me a lift home when mine went in for diff replacement, didn't even ask if i wanted a lift just said, "we'll take the disco" and jumped in. I will be using them for all my work in future. Thanks again.:D

Well i got the chip and i fitted it today and when i floor the gas pedal it goes like stink but chucks black smoke out the arse end, why is this??????????
