As there are plenty of decent p38s about, would it not be wiser and cheaper to buy a decent one in a different colour and get it painted professionally. At least you wouldn't have the mechanical worries that come with this one???

If it's a rare petrol vogue you might have trouble finding the intercooler but on the diesel version it runs more efficiently, supposedly revives the lost horses and helps the engine to breath fresh instead of oily air which has been dumped in there over the years from the turbo and engine...

There are indeed 6 screws but you only need remove the top 4 as the grille doesn't have to be removed completely. Its only to allow the slam panel to be removed.

Sorry i was thinking of the dryer, mine too is bolted to the ac condenser rad but i still didn't have to drain the expansion tank, Just undone the 4 bolts and off she popped. Must be a different setup as you said.
