Sorry forgot to say,the pedal doesn't really have a massive resistance till half way down and I've wound the adjustment right out on the master cylinder

Thanks for the replys, I've managed to get fluid through by reverse bleeding it, but still can't get it into gear when it's running?could the slave cylinder piston be causing it?or is it possible I've still got air stuck somewhere,what do I try next?

Right then, I've set the pedal up, it's 140mm from the floor, but still no joy in getting the fluid through, I did get a couple of air bubbles coming up through the reservoir but the fluid level doesn't rise, what am I doing wrong??

Dot 4 or 5 will be fine, I was under the impression that dot 5 was used more for high performance.

I've put a new flexi hose on so can't see it being that but I'll check it anyway, and I'll set the pedal as you say when I get back from work, at the moment it's 150mm from the floor, buts there's more than a few mm of free play in the pedal, so fingers crossed, thanks I'll report back and let...

Hi, I'm rebuilding my 90, I've changed the gearbox and replaced the clutch (ap),new slave and master,I've tried bleeding it and got quite a stiff pedal but can't get it into gear when the engine is running, so I'm hoping I've just got problems with air in system, before I have to start thinking...

Thanks. You got a thread for your's? Yeah it can be hard to get motivated, but like you say once you get over that hurdle it is satisfying. Not yet but keep meaning to start one ,got loads of pics ,ill sort it soon

Well done mate looks a proper job ,im currently rebuilding mine and i find it hard to get motivated sometimes but you get a real sense of achievement when you do get on it .

This is why i stopped using garages when ever possible ,i was sick of feeling ripped off and theres always something else that apparently needs doing ,buy some half decent tools and tackle things yourself ,theres always plenty of how dos on most things ,i feel sick for you .
