Isn't disco LT77 same size as a normal R380? Surely if he's used disco LT77 box the R380 will fit straight in?

Mine used to regularly jump out of high box at the most awkward places, Turns out someone didn't put the drivers floor into place properly, and the lever wasn't going fully foward... I would suggest checking this, as you will have had the floor etc up to do the engine change!

Nope, no electric pump... Tank > Lift pump > Fuel filter > Injector pump > Injectors Stop solenoid sits inside the injector pump at the back, you should hear it click when you turn ignition off/on Immobiliser will hold this off if faulty, and that'll stop flow of fuel through injector pump

Turning but not firing - google for threads on immobiliser 'spider'. Could be that stopping the stop solenoid from opening. Or maybe even the stop solenoid stuck - apply 12 volts to it and see what happens! Also could be lift pump as suggested, put a clear piece of pipe between lift pump and...

Last month I gave 1100 for a 300tdi ES spec auto....I bought a donor one with no sills left for under 500 quid so I don't think you've got much of a chance at that price...

As above. There's so much variation, don't forget tolerances and things have all dramatically moved because they're so old! I put a 200tdi in my series 3, supposedly you have to get an adapter and use the series sender to make it read properly, when I ordered my bits it wasn't available so I...

I had lots of trouble getting my 200tdi into the series, pratted about for ages, in the end took it out and re-aligned the clutch and it slid straight on :) I did have to pull the last 10mm or so with the studs as said but its still there and working now :)

What's the spider got to do with it? As I understand the spider is part of the immobiliser and just isolates the starter solenoid and fuel solenoid, and has bugger all to do with the alarm? EKA code surely isn't required, if the alarm works and car starts without the siren connected, I would...

There's a backup battery in the siren that goes faulty apparently, and makes the siren sound. Disconnecting it shuts it up. That's as much as I know, but mine is also disconnected, so I'm expecting to have the same problems as you very soon!

Put it in the dishwasher, Or heat it in the oven or with heat gun and separate the lens, investigate further and use a scouring pad or something, then re-seal with silicon sealant
