Here's some pics of the footwells: As you can see the passenger side is the worst (will buy both side footwells from yrm). The seatbox has been removed and I plan on taking the wings off so there will be good access. As for the chassis, there is a small hole in the rear...

How do you remove the steering column?

Done! What a pita.. Can be done but as previously said the brake master cylinder and pedal need to be unbolted and pushed out of the way. That's half a job off the list :)

How do you remove the steering column?

How do you remove the steering column?

The dash is out and the nut has been removed from inside. Why would the master cylinder and peddle box need removing? Also would the column come out through the inside or out of the engine bay? Thanks for the replies.

How do you remove the steering column?

I'm going to swap my column for a 48 spline one and I've undone all the bolts I can see, but how do you get the thing out? I've done a search but can't seem to see anything definitive.. Cheers

    Footwell replacement

My footwells are in need of some welding and I'm wondering if it's best to just replace the whole things? If I do replace them can these be welded with the bulkhead still attached or is it best for them to be done with the bulkhead off? I've made a start on stripping out the dash so taking the...

    Fuel tank questions

Not long had my 90 and was wondering how much people are paying to fill their tanks? Mine's a 1989 19J so if anyone with a similar sized tank (are the tdi's the same?) could let me know what it costs as of today's prices i'd be grateful. The reason I'm actually asking is I'm not sure how...
