Sorry "smashed up" is the wrong term. Basically the caliper failed and gripped the brake pad causing the pad to wear right down and rub on the disk.

From humming to grinding noise. The morning I heard metal to metal it went into the garage, so didn't get the chance to tell. All I can tell you is the grinding noise remained whilst moving and once brakes engaged the noise got louder.

Update: Garage called and found the rear passenger caliper smashed.

Slight update: The low humming, wup wup sound I have found occurs minutes after I take off then goes after 2/3 minutes, and may start again a few miles later. Doesnt happen all the time. Took it to the garage, however mechanic was too busy to put her on the ramp but suspects could be wheel...

I have new BF Goodrich tyres on my 90 Defender. I find that the rear end still slides out at very slow speed...3/4mph on green lanes. Is this normal? Tyres not good? Am I doing something wrong regarding engaging the appropriate gear on the 4x4 box?

Yes had a decent down pour then stopped. I then drove home about 20 miles parked up and noticed the drips. Still dripping now, but not as much.

I have just realised small drips of water coming from under the front nearside wheel arch to my 90 defender. I have opened the bonnet and cannot see where this is coming from! It's definately water, it's clear and no smell to it. Any ideas please?

Yes, as soon as it happened I stopped, got out and looked. Got the wife to put the main dip on, and the bean directed to the floor in the same place as the normal lights resulting in 3/4ft of beam.
