i currently have a 4 speed LT95 v8 gearbox sat down in my unit that i dont want anymore, i belive its in good condition but cant be sure as i bought it along with a v8 that was a project that never started...

as far as i am aware you need to modify the v8 flywheel to accept the 200tdi clutch, all it involves is drilling and pegging it in the right position, i belive that a company called engine conversions, if you google it do it for a very reasonable price if you just send it to them Peter

well i want a petrol to tinker with as ive tinkered with the diesel and on a 200 there is only so much you can do, i want to venture into carbs and petrol tuning and why not have the ease of both? keep the 200 for when i get bored of the low mpg

ive currently got a 1987 200tdi defender which i am bored with diesel and fancy a venture into petrol. I have been told that a 2.5 petrol should just bolt straight in using the 200 engine mounts and bellhousing. Can anyone tell me if this is correct or not? muchly appreciated. Peter

Ive come up with 2 solutions, first is to cut a hole in the diff pan and make a removable cover, then to bolt a strip of steel with part of an old sun gear welded to it to lock the sun gears, The downside of this being that you would have to drain and refill the oil everytime you "locked" it...

i have a main one comming off the rocker cover on one side, but these two are on the SU carbs i think they use the pressure of the air box to draw fuel from the float bowl into the main chamber? Peter
