    Not unless its running accross the bottom of the engine which would be obvious, its possible when you did the crankshaft main bolt that you disturbed the rear oil seal due to the amount of torque needed to do it up something like 460ft pounds, thats the only thing i could suggest

    hehehehe, its not just the alternator, ive had a 200tdi in the past which was a fantastic engine and in comparison the td5 is too problematic i prefer being able to fix it myself as every garage around here is crap or extremely expensive, one is £75 an hour :eek:
