Hi Guys I was chatting to an AA man the other day, who told me that used engine oil is safe to use in a landy as long as you thin it down with petrol. After filtering all the crap out of course, i was wondering if anyone else here does, or has done it and what you made of it?

Hi Guys, ive won a harvey frost recovery crane on ebay, has anyone had any experience fitting these and has any tips on it?

Not unless its running accross the bottom of the engine which would be obvious, its possible when you did the crankshaft main bolt that you disturbed the rear oil seal due to the amount of torque needed to do it up something like 460ft pounds, thats the only thing i could suggest

hehehehe, its not just the alternator, ive had a 200tdi in the past which was a fantastic engine and in comparison the td5 is too problematic i prefer being able to fix it myself as every garage around here is crap or extremely expensive, one is £75 an hour :eek:

i did a series two, it is reletivly simple, you just need a decent set of general tools, and a lot of WD-40 and what i lacked with mine, Patience. But if you are having any problems just start up a series 3 rebuild thread and im sure everyone on here will jump at the chance to help! i always...
