Have a :search: there have been a few threads on heater problems. Some have found that the problem 'suddenly cleared' when they tried bleeding the system. Others not so lucky - possibly of circulatory problems or blocked heater cores - unlikely on the later models unless someone has put some...

Do a search for Darmain's threads re. door locking problems. Search for rear window, window mechanisms and rear door not unlocking. Results should answer most/all of your questions and give you a good starting point. Could be why it was cheap? All are fixable with just the parts if you are handy...

TD4 ain't got none of that slave bracket stuff. Slave cylinder is a doughnut (very expensive high liability component) inside the bell housing. Master bolted to bulkhead - slave inside bellhousing - all hydraulic - no levers etc. Not heard of a 'heavy' one only a busted one! Unless the clutch...

Re: Brake Pads If you have to push the pistons back to get the new pads in - open the bleed nipples to let the fluid out as you push them in. Means a quick bleed after changing the pads BUT some have pushed dirt back into the ABS valve and had an expensive repair to get it all fixed afterwards...
