They probably gave the job of putting the serial numbers on to the same bloke who put the fuel pump in the wheel arch? :confused::confused:

Try running a few tanks of injector cleaner (diluted of course) thro' it may help and is a cheap fix to try for injector problems. It may take a few hundred miles to show any real benefit but will certainly do no harm.

Yup - Millers in ours too and very little knocking. Only using 1 for normal running - got the switch fingy for another setting for towing. Not tried that yet tho'

Ours were going a bit soft and didn't seal that well - @ less than 3 years old. Changed ours for silicone ones from Fleabay. No more leaks :):) Cost more but should keep it cleaner and last a lot longer. They did on the disco - six years while we had it and no leaks. ;)

Wiv Matt on that one - looks like a thread insert from the plastic housing. Probably was loose and your banging made it fall out. Just got to find the hole that has it's thread missing now? Bit of glue around the knurling and press it back in then do up the screw - all fixed.

Switch makes it go. Motor track makes it park.

Recall seeing a recall/technical note on the Rave about wires rubbing under the fuse box? Have a look on the Rave at the recalls and technical notes. May throw a bit of light and help?

Have you got a Haynes manual or downloaded a copy of Rave (google a link) it's free. Look up 'wiper motor' and gauge the work involved for yourself. I would say it's not too difficult a job but it's your call. It's simpler than a lot of other things that go wrong on the FL - but what the hec if...

There's a park track inside the wiper motor. It parks the wiper when you turn it off and when the intermittent wipe has moved it part way for single wipes. This has probably gone wrong - may be fixable if you open up the motor and check out the contacts onto the tracks on the gear wheel...
